We have a lot of fun around here, but it's important to "pay attention".

Welp!

(Hmmmm. Why do I sometimes put a "p" sound on the end of the word "Well"?)

Don't know.

ANYWAY! Let me welcome all of you in different parts of the country and different parts of the world. Here's a little photo gallery from last summer if you're new around here and you have NO idea what we're talking about when we say that I'm "That Guitar Man from Central Park". (You'll understand why I say that I feel like the luckiest man alive.)

Now! Today I'm spending this weekend kicking around the songs and stories for the show. I'm feeling right now that the thing might be best served if I don't over-think it and just what we always do when we get together in a music hall...

HAVE FUN.

THIS IS THE PLACE TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE PROJECT AND TO BECOME A PART IF IT!!!

.

.

Still, a show like this is going to have something to say. I mean, that's part of my job description. Like before we get to the stuff about the show, and the video... today's update here at this site is not gong to be particularly fun. But it gives me purpose. It gives all people of Reason a reason to get out of bed and write the next song or do the next Good thing. This week we learned that our president, the man in whom I had so much hope, has gone back on his word... again.

I mean, it's tough enough for me to accept that when he says "no one is above the law", that George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and others are still walking around unaccountable and un-investigated after breaking U.S. and international law by having tortured people in my name. But... well... watch this little video...

Then please take the time to watch these 2 music videos in succession. (And you'll know why it might be just the right time for people like us to get together on a Broadway stage and share a little Love and Reason with the world.)

Here's an Academy Award-winner, an Emmy Award-winner, a man who's won several Tony Awards... and his lovely wife to explain what this show can be about! Why now might be exactly the right tome to "say something" and still feel Good doing it!!!

SO WHAT CAN YOU DO?

You are everything. Just like on "The Hill" in Central Park, none of this happens if you don't show up. The 3 most important things we need from you...

1. A generous donation of real money. (Yeah, like everything else... it's gonna take money to actually make it happen.)

2. Your suggestions about what you'd like to see in the show... which songs move you, which make you laugh, which songs and stories you think a Broadway audience will get the most out of and enjoy the most.

3. We need you to take it upon yourself to be a little Paul Revere-ish... take it upon yourself to spread the word about this project every day to friends and family. Make it your own. We need you to come up with Creative ideas to get the word out about this effort.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
