Hmmmmm.....

So what.

Okay, so what is this theater piece going to be?

Is it going to be the 20-year story of "That Guitar Man from Central Park"? Is it going to about Life in general? Is it gonna be about Love and commonality? Are we gonna laugh a lot? Are we gonna sing together? Is it gonna be overtly political? Is it going to address social issues? Will it be unpredictable and fun? Is it going to be about you? Is it going to be about New York City?

Ha! Hopefully, the answer to all of those questions is... um...

It just might be time for a show like this. I don't know. I'm guessing. We'll see.

But, I get the feeling that so many people are needing to sing a little and laugh a lot these days. It feels like a bunch of people feel a little bit overwhelmed by the pinball machine in which we live, and a little bit alone or just a little bit voiceless. So many people are angry. Many are afraid. Most just wanna have a good time. But most would like to be the best people they can be while they're having fun.

I don't know.... again... I'm guessing.

Maybe it's time to go ahead and make my best guess and get on stage with a little tribe of amazing artists in a room filled with fun people and see what happens.

Here -- please watch this video and help us out if you feel like this might be a good idea.

We're a little over one week out of the gate and we are already well on our way to reaching our goal to make something really cool happen.

Here's an Academy Award-winner, an Emmy Award-winner, a man who's won several Tony Awards... and his lovely wife to explain!

Cool right? And at the IndieGoGo website you can see that a whole lotta people feel the same way right now.The numbers are rising and more an more people are becoming a part of this. It's a little deceiving. On the IndieGoGo website, it says that our total after the first week is over $4,000.

The actual number is over...

$7,500

...on our way to the $25,000 goal.

25,000 is still a long ways away. We really do need YOU to kick something in to be a part of this.

So, many cool people. So much enthusiasm about this idea. (Hell, after hangin' with all of you in Central Park for 20 years, I guess an idea like this was bound to come along.)

SO WHAT CAN YOU DO?

You are everything. Just like on "The Hill" in Central Park, none of this happens if you don't show up. The 3 most important things we need from you...

1. A generous donation of real money. (Yeah, like everything else... it's gonna take money to actually make it happen.)

2. Your suggestions about what you'd like to see in the show... which songs move you, which make you laugh, which songs and stories you think a Broadway audience will get the most out of and enjoy the most.

3. We need you to take it upon yourself to be a little Paul Revere-ish... take it upon yourself to spread the word about this project every day to friends and family. Make it your own. We need you to come up with Creative ideas to get the word out about this effort.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
