HEY!!!

Yesterday and last night -- it was another one of those nights in New York City when... if it ever fell out of the sky before, it fell out of the sky again, all at the same time. We saw snow, sleet, rain, slush, hail. There was lightning and thunder. It was a mess.

Ah, it's gone and we're just in for a little cold spell.

Welcome to all the newcomers.

In just a couple of months I'll be starting year #20 in Central Park...

AND, yesterday I signed the contract with the good people at Hudson River Park in The Village to do another summer of The Sunset Concert Series on Pier 45.

If you're just checking in here for the first time, you might wanna browse The Archive a little. Lotsa coll shit in there... free songs to download, cartoons, Photoshop images, lotsa video. And here's a little photo gallery from last year's "outdoor" season.

Okay now!!!!

In just one week from this Saturday night, I'm gonna be doing the first of 2 workshop sessions in a little theater on West 44th Street. I'll do one on April 2, and another one on April 9. These things oughta be really fun but even more interesting. It'll also be cool for anyone attending to feel like they are a part of a really cool project... right at the very, very beginning.

And if you wanna come to either of these nights, they're both... FREE.

Alright, let's do it this way. HERE's a video explaining the ultimate goal from Academy Award-winner Tony Walton and his wife.

We're trying to put a theatrical piece together that, hopefully, will be a positive thing.

.

So these sessions on April 2 and April 9 will be little work-sessions in a run-up to the actual full-out workshop we wanna do.

Both of these gigs will start at 7:30.

Both of them will be in small theaters at:

The Producer's Club
358 West 44th Street (Near 9th Avenue)

IF YOU WANT TO COME TO ONE OF THESE SHOWS, THEY'RE FREE! JUST...

Let me know what night and how many friends you're bringing... any number of people is cool. But try to bring friends who have never been to one of the concerts at Merkin Concert Hall. I will put your name on the guest list at the door.

And to really, really be a part of this effort...

I mean, if you wanna help the main project in a very significant way, other than coming to the FREE sessions... You are everything. Just like on "The Hill" in Central Park, none of this happens if you don't show up. The 3 most important things we need from you...

1. A generous donation of real money. (Yeah, like everything else... it's gonna take money to actually make it happen.)

2. Your suggestions about what you'd like to see in the show... which songs move you, which make you laugh, which songs and stories you think a Broadway audience will get the most out of and enjoy the most.

3. We need you to take it upon yourself to be a little Paul Revere-ish... take it upon yourself to spread the word about this project every day to friends and family. Make it your own. We need you to come up with Creative ideas to get the word out about this effort.

You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.

We had such a great time again this year in that theater!

(The audio got a little funky during Teresa Reynolds' Christmas song... but I'm do everything I can to fix that sooner than later. Check back.)

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
