First of all, I'd like to welcome everyone who's checking in from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. Here in New York City, we can't seem to shake the cold weather just yet. But, that's okay. Got a lot of "inside" work to do these days. And then in a few weeks, I'll be starting year #20 as "That Guitar Man from Central Park".
For any newcomers, let's start off with a little photo gallery from last year's "outdoor" season.

LAST NIGHT -- I joined a good friend of mine named Sue and went downtown to Birdland to catch a set by a fine, fine songwriter and colleague named Victoria Shaw. (Who shared the stage with another one of the finest songwriters I've ever met, Gary Burr.)
.
After the gig, I had to say "Hey" to my ol' friend Jim Caruso, who is simply the best in the business at what he does. He hosts an amazing little New York Secret called Cast Party every Monday night. If you're ever lookin' for something fun to do on a Monday night in NYC, that's a good bet. Anyway, I hadn't been down there in a while and it felt great to jump up again and do a song at that gig.
Today I'm headin' over to my buddy Sid's apartment to lay down a couple of audio tracks I wanna use in the work session this coming Saturday night. (Sid Bernstein is the man who changed everything in American music by bringing The Beatles to America.) Sid's gonna figure in this new project I'm workin' on.
What new project?
Um.... here... Okay listen... if you just showed up here to find out what all the hoo-ha is about, this is a little 10-minute video explaining the ultimate goal, from Academy Award-winner Tony Walton and his wife.
We're trying to put a theatrical piece together that, hopefully, will be a positive thing.

Get the idea?
A whole bunch of fellow artists and friends have convinced me that after 20 years of being "That Guitar Man from Central Park", it might be time to tell the story in a different way for a much larger audience. Exactly how this thing is going to evolve is way beyond me at this point. Just kinda making it up as I go along.
And here's a link to the IndieGoGo page where we're still trying to raise the money to pull this thing off.

I'm really enjoying all of your comments about the newest songs, so keep 'em comin'! This was the LIVE debut of this next song in December here in NYC.
For you guys again today... the entire concert..."The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is here for you to watch. Go make a pot of coffee. Pour yourself some tea or a nice glass of wine and sit back and watch this thing. Plug in some headphones or some earbuds if you feel like it. You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.
We had such a great time again this year in that theater!
(The audio got a little funky during Teresa Reynolds' Christmas song... but I'm do everything I can to fix that sooner than later. Check back.)

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
