THIS IS NEW...
Y'know? If you've been comin' around here at all you know that we're doin' something really, very cool this year. It's a new theatrical project that I want YOU to be a part of! (I'll get into that in a minute.)
But this weekend I want to introduce a new feature here at the website. I think I'm gonna begin each update with a "Quote of the Day". I see other websites and blogs do that kind of thing, and very often it inspires me to be a slightly better human being for whatever reason. So, before we get to the news about the new project...
Here's the"QUOTE OF THE DAY"

Okay, here we go.
After playing in Central Park for 20 years, many people around me have convinced me that it's time to try to tell the story. I'm not sure it;'s so much a story about "me" as much as it's the story of all of us over the last 20 years -- especially the first 10 years of the 21st century in America, as seen through the eyes of a fiercely independent artist in New York City. (Okay... yeah, that would be me.)
I feel that I might have figured out a very cool, very new way to go about putting this thing together. BUT I NEED YOU TO SHOW UP FOR IT.
In one week, and then again the week after, I'm gonna do a work-session... a mini concert... a mini workshop to run a whole bunch of fun stuff past an audience to see what lands and what doesn't... to see what is already there and what needs to be added. You can be in the audience. I feel like it's gonna be important to me to do this as part of this Creative process. So I'd really love it if you would be a part of it.
AND I'M GONNA OPEN IT UP!!! (Pick a date you and your friends can come.)
SATURDAY NIGHT, APRIL 2 -- SATURDAY NIGHT, APRIL 9
Both of these gigs will start at 7:30.
Both of them will be in small theaters at:
The Producer's Club 358 West 44th Street(Near 9th Avenue)
IF YOU WANT TO COME TO ONE OF THESE SHOWS, THEY'RE FREE! JUST...
Let me know what night and how many friends you're bringing... any number of people is cool. But try to bring friends who have never been to one of the concerts at Merkin Concert Hall. I will put your name on the guest list at the door.

THIS VIDEO WILL EXPLAIN THE ULTIMATE GOAL.
(I think)
This is a little 10-minute video explaining the ultimate goal, from Academy Award-winner Tony Walton and his wife.
We're trying to put a theatrical piece together that, hopefully, will be a positive thing.

Get the idea?
And here's a link to the IndieGoGo page where we're still trying to raise the money to pull this thing off.

I'm really enjoying all of your comments about the newest songs, so keep 'em comin'! This was the LIVE debut of this next song in December here in NYC.
For you guys again today... the entire concert..."The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is here for you to watch. Go make a pot of coffee. Pour yourself some tea or a nice glass of wine and sit back and watch this thing. Plug in some headphones or some earbuds if you feel like it. You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.
We had such a great time again this year in that theater!
(The audio got a little funky during Teresa Reynolds' Christmas song... but I'm do everything I can to fix that sooner than later. Check back.)

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
