Welcome to the website.

If you saw Tuesday's update you know that we're getting close to launching a new and very cool project of which I'm hoping all of you will want to be a part. The video and announcement will be ready here at this website in a little while. But first...

Okay. So, I just got back in town after a beautiful week-long gig on the Pacific coast of sunny Mexico. A wonderful woman who was on the trip named Paulette sent me these photos.

.

I'll have some stories to tell you guys about that trip. It was an amazing trip, filled with lots and lots of opportunities for me to share music, thoughts, stories, good will and smiles with a whole bunch of new people.

But now, this weekend I hafta turn right around and head back outta town to be part of a benefit exhibition gig for Baseline Wheelchair Tennis. It's an organization that does amazing work in promoting tennis to those who just happen to use wheelchairs to get around their lives. There's always been a need for this kind of thing, but since the mindless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are sending so many men and women home with devastatingly, life-altering injuries, the need has skyrocketed. Baseline Wheelchair Tennis was started by a man active in the USTA for years named Bob Waldman. It's a very cool thing that he's doing and a while back he asked me to be on the board of directors. (Ha! Me on a "board of directors"! I think that's a good way of making sure I hafta say "Yes" when they want me to play at one of their functions.!) Of course, they don't know how deeply I feel that it's a beautiful thing they're doing and that I absolutely consider it an honor to lend my music to this kind of effort every time they ask anyway!!!

So, there won't be a new update here at this site until Tuesday, okay?

In the meantime...

In the meantime, if any of you are new here or are checking in today for the very first time, hit "The Archive". Seriously. It's a pretty fun thing to do to go all the way back a few years and check out how thins website was covering and dealing with things that were happening in this great city, in this country and around the world.

There are FREE songs to download, lots of video, all kinda stuff. Have fun.

Here's a Photo Gallery for any newcomers, just to give you a visual of what it is we do in Central Park and on Pier 45 in The Village all summer! (No matter where in the world you're reading this, if you hung out with me you might find your smiling face in this collection!!!)

HAVE FUN TODAY... being one of the Good Guys!!!!!! (And be cool to each other, okay?)

It can feel really good to be one of those people who are enjoying Life and trying to make the world a slightly better place... just by being kind, just by trying to understand, just by speaking an honest opinion of what the Truth might be... just by being cool.

.

Thanks for everything.

Peace ☮

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
