Damn! I'm a lucky man!!!!
Who gets to do what I do!? I never ever lose sight of the fact that I'm an independent artist who gets to do exactly what he knows he's meant to be doing with his Life. That makes me such a f*ckin' lucky man... and allows me to spend most of my days in state of gratitude and amazement! Very cool.
Today's update, as most of the updates around here over the winter, are really about ALL of you... you guys here in New York City as well as all of you in different parts of the country and different parts of the world. There's a lot going on in the world. There's a lot going on in my world. Big changes in both.
First I want to re-post this for any friends checking in from the Middle East.
Now listen, I don't think Mubarak is gonna last the week over there. So hopefully the turmoil and tension will subside soon... at least in Egypt.
I'm such a fan of "The People"... as long as we can leave religion out of a peaceful mix.
.
.
Seriously. Any of you who have heard my "The Religion Song" know what I'm talkin' about. Hope we all just listen to, what Abraham Lincoln called, ..."the better angels of our nature".
.
Okay! Back to the music and fun.
For the past few weeks I've been telling you guys about a "project" I'm kickin' around with some friends, colleagues and fellow-artists. I might as well give you a little insight into what I've been talkin' about.
Y'know that "It's Just Us' feeling that we've shared out in Central Park for the past 20 years? Well, can you imagine taking the story of all those experiences to the Broadway stage? What d'you think?
You guys might wanna start emailing me your thoughts about what a show like that might look like... what songs you think should be included, what stories you think you'd like me to share with the rest of the world.
Here's a moment that I think might be included.
.
.
And here are some songs that I think will definitely hafta be in the mix.

What d'you think?
What other songs will you want to hear in a night of stories and music?
Here are a couple of different fun galleries to check out.

HAVE FUN TODAY... being one of the Good Guys!!!!!!(And be cool to each other, okay?)
It can feel really good to be one of those people who are enjoying Life and trying to make the world a slightly better place... just by being kind, just by trying to understand, just by speaking an honest opinion of what the Truth might be... just by being cool.
.
Thanks for everything.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
