Wanna say that around here at this website, we support people all over the world who want to be treated with fairness and respect. So to the people of Egypt who want a new secular and truly democratic government... I stand with you.
Okay, I'm not sure how much meaning that has as I'm sitting comfortably in a country which has a habit of treating dictatorial regimes as allies when convenient or it's deemed necessary. Of course, whether our government deals with monarchies or autocratic governments in international diplomacy is irrelevant in many ways. The internal system of government in each sovereign nation is their business. We can at best be an example and do our best to promote human rights. Freedom and democracy always has to come from within, from the people. But...
I'm sending Good, good thoughts around to that side of our world and hoping for the best.
.
A secular and genuine democracy.

Y'know, for the past few weeks I've been telling you guys that a BIG project is on the horizon.
.
It is.
.
.
And it would be a little bit premature for me to tell you guys exactly what it is right now. But today... January 30, is the day at which we might look back and think of it as the day the whole thing might have gotten rolling. I submitted an application for fiscal sponsorship to support the project and, if it's approved, I'll be letting all of YOU know how you can help make this thing a reality.
We'll probably get an answer right after I get back from Mexico.
Yeah, I'm leaving on Saturday to do a one-week gig in Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo.

Okay... how do you feel about the song and what it says?
For you guys again today... the entire concert..."The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is here for you to watch. Go make a pot of coffee. Pour yourself some tea or a nice glass of wine and sit back and watch this thing. Plug in some headphones or some earbuds if you feel like it. You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.
We had such a great time again this year in that theater!
(The audio got a little funky during Teresa Reynolds' Christmas song... but I'm do everything I can to fix that sooner than later. Check back.)

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
