Well, here we are... finishing up another lap around the Sun.

GONNA HAVE A BRAND NEW VIDEO FOR YOU LATER TODAY!!!

And I'm posting a representative handful of your comments about another one of the newest songs!

What an amazing year I had in 2010. Thank you to every single one of you who showed up here at the site, everyone who spent even one day with me in Central Park, and all of you who filled Merkin Concert Hall this year.

Here's a photo gallery from the summer. Click on this banner for a tiny example of the fun we had this year in Central Park. (No matter where in the world you're reading this, if you've ever hung out with me you might find your smiling face in one of the galleries!!!)

This year I met so many amazing people. Met some really, genuinely beautiful, kind people. Met a handful of genuine assholes. Ran into a couple of insects. But that's Life! Like I always say, "The assholes just glance off my life. The Good people stick."

Welcome to all of you stopping by from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. Here in New York we're kinda diggin' out from the blizzard of 2010. The next couple of days are the messiest, because the snow and ice are piled up over all the drains and the temps are gonna climb over 50 degrees. So, every corner in Manhattan will resemble one of the Great Lakes.

BUT -- the last few days have afforded me some wonderful, wonderful, wonderful time for inside stuff... and "inside" stuff... and inside stuff. (Long story.) Seriously... I love my life.

I got a lot of work done, too.

TODAY! I'm ready to release the next music video in HD. It's called "Can't You See?" This a song which was performed LIVE for the very first tome a few weeks ago at "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert". In a very real way, it might be considered a companion piece with my song "Stupid Country". I'm lovin' all the comments that have been coming in. I'm really looking forward to hearing what you have to say about today's new vid. Hopefully it's a bit more thought-provoking than "Stupid Country".

It will probably be live around 11:00 pm (Eastern time)

"My Stupid Country" is further down the page. But first...

SOME OF YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT "STUPID COUNTRY"!

You used a lot of big words there, Dave! Yep, we be stupid. In January, we be stupider.
~ Rick

"Stupid Country" song - very sad, but so true. Good for you! Have a happy new year.
~Talya

I couldn't agree with this sentiment more.
~ Matt

Thank you. Great song as are many of your others. Some will cast this as message of a political bent. I see it as a call for all of us to use our talents and efforts in a more significant and intelligent way. I love it. Great satire.
Happy Holidays and beyond.

~ Ray and Diane (Turtle Bay - Eastside)

Ha I'd like to type LOL --- oh oops, there I go!!! It's sad but true -- and I'm glad you laugh and enjoy it and draw attention to it -- let's hope more than just the "choir" hear you my friend.
~ Tracy (Arizona)

Interesting song. I've been finding myself telling friends that the problem with our country is that there are simply a lot of really stupid people in it who really believe whatever they hear. But somehow this song bothers me a bit and I'm not sure why. I guess because although it's cute it's so obviously talking about one aspect of the country and I kind of wish you had one or more final verses that also pointed out that there are some amazing people around too - who help to remind us of how stupid we can be. I've been watching Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell (Last Word - and especially good) who are both so smart and right about so much.
But along with your song I want there to be something about how much you love this country, how really extraordinary we are and somehow bring it home that way. Otherwise it just can seem a bit too smug without really offering much. Still fun for all of us liberals to chuckle over but I think it could be a little deeper. Also, this was probably written before our glorious "lame duck" congress which accomplished some incredible legislation. I'd be teary eyed if you could make up a song that somehow credited some of the wonderful politicians out there since we usually just lump them altogether as do-nothings.

~ Diane

The song pleases me very much and I love especially the music which is lively and a kind of country one. The performance was great. Congratulations for a new one... I wish you all the best of success next year and your success will make your friends from NYC, USA and the world very happy.
~ Catulina (Portugal)

Much enjoyed the video or the new song - "stupid county"! sadly - toooo true. Continuing to enjoy visits to your website. Hope to see you "back on the hill" next spring/summer!

THE CONCERT

For you guys again today... the entire concert... "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is here for you to watch. Go make a pot of coffee. Pour yourself some tea or a nice glass of wine and sit back and watch this thing. Plug in some headphones or some earbuds if you feel like it. You can actually jump around and watch different parts o the show.

We had such a great time again this year in that theater!

(The audio got a little funky during Teresa Reynolds' Christmas song... but I'm do everything I can to fix that sooner than later. Check back.)

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
