Hey welcome to the website.

.

I know a lot of you are checkin' in here from across the country and different parts of the world. but here in New York, it's Marathon Sunday.

If you're reading this and you're gonna run in that event today... GOOD LUCK!

If you're reading this and you've already finished it... CONGRATULATIONS!

If you're reading this while you're running... put down the damned ipad and watch where you're going!!!!

Hey, if you came down to The Sidewalk Cafe last night, thanks so much for showing up. And I wanna share my thanks to Athena Reich... I ultimately had a good time at that very different little gig. Very cool. I felt like once the birthday party left, the atmosphere got a little looser. There was a comedienne named Cara Kilduff on the bill who knocked me over. I think there's gonna hafta be something to include her in down the road. Turns out Athena and I are neighbors so we're gonna hafta grab coffee one of these days. Hope ANYONE I met or shared the stage with decides to show up at Merkin Concert Hall on Saturday night, December 11th. (Believe it or not, it's just 5 weeks away.)

.

Got something very cool to do today.

No... I'm not running in the NYC Marathon. Someone promised me a long time ago that I could be restored to sanity and it's happened!

I was asked to contribute a song to a compilation album that included artists you know and some you might not suspect of being singer/songwriters... Christine Lavin, Janis Ian, Kate Taylor (James's sister), actors Jeff Daniels and David Rasche, Julie Gold among others. Gonna bring my guitar over to a kind of a CD release brunch at the home of a very cool woman in the world of music, Ann Ruckert. I guess we'll just kick around some songs. I really don't know what to expect but I know the thing is sold out.

I'll tell you more about the album as the holidays get closer. (It's a holiday thang.)

Anyway, another thing that's getting closer is...

"The Something'th Annual Year-End Concert"

.

Play it safe. Start calling friends this weekend and grab seats sooner than later. (Actually if you've ever been there you know. There really isn't a bad seat in Merkin Hall. For a large theater, it's very intimate.) For me it's just a cool tradition and a chance to share a stage again with some of the most talented, sweetest, funniest artists in New York! So here's the number for the box office if you wanna call them directly to speak with Elizabeth.

212-501-3330

Or you can order them online right now...

So call a few friends, round them up, make plans to make a night of it... and then grab tickets sooner than later!!!

Okay, before we leave... let's take a look back at this season. ' Cause when we fill Merkin Concert Hall and fill it with music and that "It's Just Us" feeling, you can look around and see a lot of the same smiling faces you see around you all summer in Central Park. Here's a photo galleries from this season. This one exists largely because of the enthusiasm and camera work of publicist Laura Manske and others who send in photos. The 2010 gallery will continue to grow as we finish out the year "indoors".

(No matter where in the world you're reading this, if you've ever hung out with me you might find your smiling face in one of the galleries!!!)

.

Thanks for everything.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
