Here we are... almost out the other side of Thanksgiving Weekend 2010.
.
NOW!!!
It's only 2 weeks away!

"The Something'th Annual Year-End Concert"
I checked the box office last Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Looks like about half of the seats in the orchestra are gone, but that means there are still lots of great seats. And the way Merkin Concert Hall is designed, some of the best seats in the house are in the balcony, so there are plenty left up there.
Y'know? The "switch" usually flips for me when we get a lot closer to the gig every year. And by that I mean, every year in the prep for the gig I'm usually so caught up in the energy of putting the thing together that I can't really relax and enjoy the fact that soon I'm gonna be sharing a big room with all of you, and we're just gonna laugh and sing and do that whole "It's Just Us" thing that we do. That switch usually flips about a week out.
But this year... it's happened early. I'm already feeling that it's just gonna be a special, very cool night and I'm really looking forward to the moment I get to walk out on that stage again.
Make sense?
ANYWAY... hope you're gonna be there with a bunch of your friends. The box office opens up again today at noon and will be open all week.

If you don't get tickets online today, maybe you can make today a day to call a few friends, round them up, make plans to make a night of it... and then grab tickets sooner than later!!! The box office will be open all week.

Y'know? I can't possibly imagine doing anything else for a living. Putting these shows together, writing and producing and recording songs, updating a website every day... these things are lot of work. But when me and the guys get in the studio, after a few hours of hard work and hard laughs I've made a habit of turning to the person standing closest to me in the studio and ask the same question every time. It usually goes like this:
Me: Quick! Ask me what I do for a living.
Them: Okay... um... what do you do for a living?
Me: THIS!!!
It just keeps me in that state of constant amazement, Gratitude and wonder. I'm so lookin' forward to the gig this year.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
