Welcome to the website.

I'm calling this update "CLARITY".

THIS PARTICULAR UPDATE AIN'T FUNNY OR FUN.

If you're lookin' for a smile or a laugh or some music, CLICK ON THIS LINK and hit just about every other update!

I know many of you stop by here and you live in different parts of the country and different parts of the world.

And if you've ever spent an afternoon with me in Central Park, you know how much I love music, and Life, and... all of you. And you know how much fun we have around here. You know how much we laugh. But I have to dedicate this entire update to something that is weighing on my mind and spirit... and then let it go.

Clarity.

I just want everyone who knows me and digs my music to be clear about something. I'd love every single person of Reason to be clear about an unambiguous and inarguable Truth today.

But, I'm gonna subtitle today's update... "I'll be back tomorrow".

.

I will be back tomorrow with one of my usual updates.

I'll be back tomorrow with more information about the fun yearly tradition we have coming up at Merkin Concert Hall on December 11th.

I'll be back tomorrow with some video from the Barnes & Noble event I was a part of the other night with such a wonderful lineup of artists.

I'll be back tomorrow, sharing FREE music and video.... and thoughts and feelings.

I'll be back tomorrow sharing my Life and being "That Guitar Man from Central Park".

But today...

Today I'm gonna dedicate this entire update to one, very sad, very undeniable Truth.

.

.

There is a man who is inundating the airways and the internet in a shameless effort to sell something and make money. There is a man who is appearing everywhere this week, trying to make a personal profit. There are countless media-lightweights giving him the opportunity to do so for the sake of their own careers, notoriety and personal gain.

Because of the shameless, soul-less, greedy, callous, stupid, shallow things I've been seeing on TV surrounding the sale of an inane book written by a documented liar and fool, I feel compelled as an artist and a man of Reason to dedicate today's update to the following statement of fact.

Just so that we're all clear about something.

.

.

This man...

.

Is a war criminal.

.

This man has broken U.S. law. This man has authorized the torture of fellow human beings. This man has caused the deaths of thousands more Americans than Osama Bin Laden and the deaths of thousands and thousands of children in Iraq.

This man is a liar.

This man is a fraud.

This man is a Spiritually bankrupt disgrace as a human being and shames his country.

This man represents everything wrong with the United States of America in the 21st century... from the celebration of ignorance and intellectual weakness, to oligarchy in Dick Cheney's mind, to the back-room lobbyists influencing both major parties, to the misuse of power, to the acceptability of the bold-faced lie in media today.

But the bottom-line is this... this tiny, tiny little man is nothing more than a criminal.

You may dispute if torture is moral. (It's not, It's morally repugnant.) You may debate it's efficacy. (It's irrelevant.) You may debate whether our fear and cowardice justifies or excuses the use of the same barbaric practices of some of our more uncivilized and brutal enemies. (I'll oppose that thought with my last breath.)

But you cannot debate that it's illegal. It's a fact.

In this country... right now... today... water-boarding and torture is illegal. It's against the law.

Now, if you are so frightened and morally ambiguous that you believe torturing another human being is justified... then change the law. (If that's the case, then you and I want to live in very different countries.) If you feel that an elected president should be allowed to break our laws with impunity, then we want to live in very different countries. If you subscribe to the Richard Nixon philosophy of "If the president does it... it's not illegal"... admit that you have no understanding of our Constitution or the principles upon which this nation was founded.

.

But as he does his little lap to sell his book and line his pockets, George W. Bush is an admitted, confessed criminal.

And at this point, if you don't realize that fact or worse deny it... I don't know what to say.

.

Our current president Barack Obama and the rest of the Democrats who took the reins in 2008 shamefully refused to accept their responsibility and do their duty as elected officials in my country.... and so... they are complicit in his crimes. Every Republican in office who turns his or her head is complicit as well.

Our Attorney General, Eric Holder, is neither a man of principle or law if he refuses to do his sworn duty.

But George W. Bush is, to every person of conscience and reason, without question or dispute...

.

a criminal.

I'll be back tomorrow.

HOPE THE POINT OF THIS UPDATE WAS CLEAR.

.

ROCK ON, GOOD PEOPLE!

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
