Welcome to the website!!!!

No, I'm not out on Central Park this weekend. The "outdoor" season for 2010 is over... it's also a beautiful weekend, but too cold to get the fingers working on the fret board the way we'd like!

BUT!!!

The "Year-End" concert is just 6 weeks away!!!! (Can you believe it? Man! This year flew!)

Couple of things. First let's start off with a look back at this season. ' Cause when we fill Merkin Concert Hall and fill it with music and that "It's Just Us" feeling, you can look around and see a lot of the same smiling faces you see around you all summer in Central Park. Here's a photo galleries from this season. This one exists largely because of the enthusiasm and camera work of publicist Laura Manske and others who send in photos. The 2010 gallery will continue to grow as we finish out the year "indoors".

(No matter where in the world you're reading this, if you've ever hung out with me you might find your smiling face in one of the galleries!!!)

I have 2 things for this weekend. One of them is actually pretty serious. Then we'll let it go and get back to the fun!

Okay... Yes. Yes, I saw President Obama on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart this week. No, I wasn't impressed with what he had to say. I'm generally disappointed that "The Audacity of Hope" he ran on would leave me hoping for a little audacity instead of more Washington politics -- in the face of an opposition party filled with the most disingenuous and unAmerican phonies I've seen in my lifetime.

And yes, I'm disheartened that so many people of this country are gullible and shallow enough to be fooled into buying the crap being shelled out by these so-called Tea Party Leaders and the corporate propaganda machine that is FOX.

.

And yes, as a fiercely independent (registered Independent) voter I'm discouraged at timidity and gutlessness of the Democratic Party.

Okay. And yes, yes, yes... I'm the man who wrote The Last Protest Song

.

But the alternative?

There isn't a fact in that video that's untrue. So, once again... this week pinch your nose, stand up on your hind legs, take the time, walk into your polling place and...

.

Now back to the fun!!!!!!

THERE'S A VERY DIRECT WAY FOR YOU TO GIVE ME A LITTLE HELP THIS WEEK and be a real part of the concert in December!!!!

In 6 weeks we'll all be in Merkin Concert Hall on a Saturday night to kick another year in the ass as it heads out the door. If you're gonna be in or anywhere near New York City that weekend, you might wanna call a few friends and grab tickets this week.

Now, I don't want anyone to miss this thing. But they can't be there if they don't hear about it!!!

That's where you come in this week.

Y'see, I discovered this week that only a small, small percentage of the people who signed up for the "official email list here at the site are actually getting the messages. (There are a lot of technical reasons for that. Not important.)

The important question I have is this... will you email at least 10 of your own friends or people on your email list and tell them about the gig this year. If you actually do it... it will be a very real, very grassroots, very cool way to fill that hall!!!!

I wrote out a very short, very to the point email that you can copy and paste... it's a Word Document. (Or you can write your own.)

CLICK HERE IF YOU WANT A
PRE-WRITTEN MESSAGE TO COPY!

Cool?

Thanks so much!!!!!

And if you haven;t gotten your own tickets yet.... um... what are you waiting for!?

here at the website today I've got 2 ways you can grab tickets for...

"The Something'th Annual Year-End Concert"

.

I know. I know. You're thinking, "I've got plenty of time to get tickets."

And... you do.

But this might be a good weekend to start calling some friends, really making plans. Y'know? This thing happens in the second week of December, right around the time so many of you religious-types are celebrating holidays and stuff. It's the time of year when friends start thinking about getting together as one year ends and we turn another page on the calendar.

For me it's just a cool tradition and a chance to share a stage again with some of the most talented, sweetest, funniest artists in New York! So here's the number for the box office if you wanna call them directly to speak with Elizabeth.

212-501-3330

.

Or you can order them online right now...

Click on this banner to grab your tickets right now!

.

So call a few friends, round them up, make plans to make a night of it... and then grab tickets sooner than later!!!

.

Here are a few moments from last year's concert!

Now, here's that song about "Facebook... Idiot" is still rocketing around the world. As of today, over a quarter of a million people all around the planet are passing it around. (Must struck a chord inside a few people.)

If you haven't seen it yet...

Click to watch the video of the new facebook song

Pass it on to all you friends. Post in anywhere you want! Now one more thing about that "facebook" song! You can also get that one for yourself!

Click on this link and also get this song right now!!!

Okay now...

Here are a couple of different galleries.

.

HAVE FUN TODAY!!!!!! (And be cool to each other, okay?) I'll be back tomorrow with another update.

.

Thanks for everything.

PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
