What a great summer season we had in Central Park this year.

I posted some more photos from the final day of the "outdoor season" a little further down the page.
I've also got a new video from this past Saturday. Y'know... it's so cool that, even on a day with a smaller than usual crowd, I'm hangin' out with people from all across the country and all around the world. This Saturday, I got to sing a spontaneous duet with a guy from the other side of the world.
First I wanna tell you guys that the tickets are already on sale for...
"THE SOMETHING'TH ANNUAL YEAR-END CONCERT"
There is a link for you to grab your tickets online today a little further down the page.

Now, last night The Yankees had a really, really rough time against Texas. Andy Pettitte showed why he's such a warrior on the mound but the bats never woke up. Gonna head up there tonight with my friend Andrea and watch the boys get back on track against The Rangers.
Let's Go Yankees!
Back to the music.
This past Saturday was my last weekend with all of you in Central Park for 2010. It was actually a very sweet way to wrap up year #19. The crowd was smaller than usual. The air was cooler than usual. But the feeling was as warm as it always is. And the laughs were as genuine.
At one point in the day, on an impulse I jumped into the opening riff of a great old song by a group called The Strawbs called "Part of the Union". A guy who was visiting New York from Australia named Dennis was sitting on the bench in front of me. As soon as he heard the opening chord a big smile of recognition spread across his face. I asked, "Just from that chord, you know what song that is!?"
And he shot back, "Part of the Union!!!"
So, I grabbed my second microphone and ran it out to him. I didn't hafta ask twice. We launched into the song... and after struggling to remember all the lyrics, we finally put it together as everybody joined in the chorus.

BUT OKAY! NOW IT'S TIME TO START THINKING ABOUT GRABBING TICKETS TO...
"The Something'th Annual Year End Concert"
You're not gonna wanna miss this one, or even risk being sold outta this one. We had such a great tome at last year's gig. It's the perfect way for all of us to get together in a beautiful 500-seat theater over by Lincoln Center and just kick another year in the ass as it heads out the door. Last week I was speaking to a pretty girl in California named Tracy. She's been to "The Hill" in Central Park but she's never been to one of these concerts at Merkin Concert Hall.(Actually, to be honest, we were talking about my history of ineptitude at "online dating", and I mentioned a song that I'd written about it which I did with the guys at last year's gig.)
Here's a little clip of INTERNET ANGEL and the kind of fun we have at these things every year.

Before I go any further let me tell you how you can grab tickets right now.
I think you're gonna wanna make a few phone calls today or this weekend. Call a few friends and see if they wanna make a special night of it. It's a Saturday night, right around the holidays so it'll be a sweet reason for you guys to get together for something really fun and uniquely New York.
SATURDAY NIGHT, DECEMBER 11 -- 7:30
Then... call the box office directly and speak with John or Elizabeth. (They're really cool and they're already doing a great job taking care of everyone this year.)

MERKIN CONCERT HALL is a beautiful, 500-seat theater on Manhattan's West side near Lincoln Center. But we turn it into the sweetest tradition like a big living room filled with friends.
Y'see, it's the same feeling that gets generated every Saturday in Central Park... once we get over that grown-up crap.
Here watch.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
