Welcome to the website.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN!

In yesterday's update I posted bunch of photos of John and the boys in Central Park... not far from where we're gonna be hangin' out today.

If you're anywhere in or near NYC today, I hope I see you out in the park to hang with me. It's gonna be a really special day in Central Park. I can feel it.

If you're new here, or if you're in a different part of the country or a different part of the world, I've got some really great things happening here at the site today. A special announcement and a couple of videos out of The Archive.

Listen, I've been making music by The Lake for a whole lotta years now. And when you get a day as pretty as this one in the month of October, you just know the energy is gonna be beautiful when we're hangin' together.

.

So YES!!! I'm gonna be in the park today!!!

.

AND since this happens to be John Lennon's birthday... I think this would be a really good day to make an announcement!!! 2 ANNOUNCEMENTS!

.

FIRST!

The tickets for "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" will go on sale...
TODAY!!!

.

And... SECOND!

I'm going to start an additional fund to help those people (Gene and Paulette Cranick) in Tennessee who saw their house burn to the ground while the Fire Department stood by and watched... watched because they didn't pay a $75 fee.

My father, Joesph Ippolito, is a retired Deputy Chief of the greatest Fire Department on the planet. the FDNY. The thought of any firefighter.... any thinking, caring compassionate human being standing by and watching a home burn when they had the capacity and duty to do something about it is beyond disgraceful. I'll have much more to say about that this week.

Glenn Beck is among those spiritually bankrupt midgets defending this fucking outrage. So I'll have more to say about him this week as well.

Just wanted you guys to know that I'm going to start the donations to help that family this week.

Okay, now here are a couple of extra special little things here at the website today.

Now! Sid Bernstein is the man who brought The Beatles to America. He will also be hangin' out with us in the park today. A few days ago I was asked by a buddy of mine on BBC Radio in the UK to send him a little something for John Lennon's birthday. I asked Sid if he wanted to extend some birthday wishes and he was happy to jump in.

Sid's birthday message.

Back in 2007 I was asked by Sid Bernstein, to meet him at Strawberry Fields to celebrate John's birthday with him. It took me some time to find him in the crowd and the result was a pretty cool little video that captures the spirit of the kind of spontaneous joy that still erupts in that spot a few times a year.

And since it was so much fun, I continued the video. Have fun. (Don't be afraid or embarrassed to smile until your face hurts or sing out loud!)

Thanks for the music, John.

I'm gonna be back tomorrow with another update. But for right now, I wanna also welcome anyone who is new here because they ran into us in the park today. If you're gonna be in town on December 11th I really hope I see you and some friends at Merkin Concert Hall. You might wanna go back and browse The Archive to see what goes on around here.

.

And here are a couple of photo galleries from this season and last.

(No matter where in the world you're reading this, if you've ever hung out with me you might find your smiling face in one of the galleries!!!)

Like I said, there are also some fun videos making their way around the country and around the world. Here's one about the upcoming final installments of the Harry Potter series of movies. It's a song about the character, Hermione Granger.

Here... click on the image to check out the song and watch the video.

Now one more thing about that song!

IT IS AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO DOWNLOAD!!!

I'm serious!

Now you can download the song itself, and walk around with it in your ipod or mp3 player and sing it to yourself on the bus, in the subway, in the car... while you're on facebook.

.

OKAY!

.

Now, that other song about "Facebook... Idiot" is still rocketing around the world. As of today, over a quarter of a million people all around the planet are passing it around. (Must struck a chord inside a few people.)

If you haven't seen it yet...

Pass it on to all you friends. Post in anywhere you want! Now one more thing about that "facebook" song! You can also get that one for yourself!

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
