Hey!

Welcome to the website.

Man! What a weekend... what a Life!

This is why I feel like the luckiest man alive.

I write songs and I sing them for people. Not really a bad thing to do with a life. And I kinda woke up this morning with this thought...

"Damn! It's a big world, but somebody's gotta change it! Maybe we all oughta give it a shot together."

Anyway, I think we kinda made it a slightly kinder place this past Saturday. You guys who hung out with me certainly made my world a whole lot more fun! This past Saturday, there were times during the day when was laughing so hard that my face hurt.

Thank you. I needed that. (But I could always use a good, good laugh.)

You can check out a batch of photos in yesterday's update. Here are a few more:

Thanks to publicist, Laura Manske, for shooting all these photos and sending them in. i'm gonna post a bunch of photos that other sweet people are sending in to the site starting tomorrow.

But if you're new around here and you wanna check out a whole gallery from the 2010 season.... HERE!

Look, I know an awful lot of you are checking in here from different parts of the country and different parts o the world. I think that is sooooo cool. But if you're here in NYC...Yes!!! Weather permitting I'm gonna put my guitar on my shoulder and head back out there this coming Saturday. So if you're in or anywhere near New York City, I hope I see you lout there before the weather gets too cold.

BUT TODAY!!!!

Got another new video for you!!!

You might get the feeling you've seen something like this before here at the site... because you have! Nearly every time I ask a couple of newlyweds in the park if they would like to share their very first dance as husband and wife with "The People on the Hill", they are thrilled. And every time, the people of this great city are more than happy to make a beautiful memory to last a lifetime.

So cool.

Okay. I'll be back tomorrow with another video of a "Uniquely New York Moment" from last Saturday.

BTW -- if you're gonna be in or around New York City on December 11th, you are NOT gonna wanna miss this year's "Something'th Annual Year End Concert". I'm already talkin' to the kids about it and we're gonna have an amazing night. I'll start lettin' you guys know more about it soon.

But for now, if you're new around here you should know that there are lots of videos, lots of FREE songs to download... lots of reasons to browse The Archive.

And listen.... I'm not gonna let this go because I feel so strongly about it.

New York is the only truly international experiment that works... every day! It is the essence of the very BEST of what America is supposed to stand for. Therefore, Manhattan belongs to all Americans.

ALL OF IT!!!

That's why I implore the developers of Cordoba House (Park 51) not to relent to any pressure from the fearful and the angry in this country. The opponents of this project are largely people who like to call themselves Americans, but are selective about which principles upon which this nation was founded they choose to honor.

On that note...

Here are a few thousand people standing up for principle and takin' it to the streets. This event was organized by a group called New York Neighbors for American Values. Please check them out.

HEY!!!! There are always some fun videos making their way around the country and around the world. Here's one about the upcoming final installments of the Harry Potter series of movies. It's a song about the character, Hermione Granger.

Here... click on the image to check out the song and watch the video.

Now one more thing about that song!

IT IS AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO DOWNLOAD!!!

I'm serious!

Now you can download the song itself, and walk around with it in your ipod or mp3 player and sing it to yourself on the bus, in the subway, in the car... while you're on facebook.

Now, that other song about "Facebook... Idiot" is still rocketing around the world. As of today, almost a quarter of a million people all around the planet are passing it around. (Must struck a chord inside a few people.)

If you haven't seen it yet...

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
