Hey, welcome to the site. Welcome to every single one of you in different parts of the country, or wherever in the world you are reading this.
Here in New York City... today is "A Tale of Two Weekends".
Last weekend and this coming weekend.
This past weekend, we had another typically amazing day of music and laughs at "The Hill" by The Lake in Central Park. Teresa Reynolds was out there again to sing with me. A few thousand people hung out together and sang together and laughed together and shared an afternoon together in the middle of the greatest city in the world.
And this coming Saturday if you're lucky enough to be in New York, I think you're gonna wanna come and hang with us again. There is a something very cool happening and you can be a part of it.
FIRST...you can hit this link to check out a whole bunch of photos from this past weekend. (Maybe you're in some of them!) And here are some more moments from Saturday afternoon captured by the lens of publicist Laura Manske.

Okay so NOW!
This coming weekend!
A wonderful filmmaker from Brazil, from San Francisco, um... from the planet earth... Moises Nascimento is comin' to New York and heading out to "The Hill" with us to film a very special song with me. It's a song about... PEACE. It's a song about the Love that is inside each and every one of us. If you're gonna be in town, I want you to think about heading out to be a part of it. He's making a very special movie called "Duas Americas". (Two Americas)

And I would LOVE for you to be a part of this project in a very fun and very real way!!!!
Tomorrow, come back to the website. I'm gonna post a little sound clip of a riff in the song he wants to put in the movie. I think it would be really cool if all of you on "The Hill" sang it with us.... LOUD!!!! (And with soul!)
Hmmmm.... maybe that's the wrong word. Maybe... um... I hope you all sing it with enthusiasm, sincerity and Joy. (Howzat!?)
So... this coming Saturday, head out to Central Park and be a part of the making of this wonderful film that, hopefully, will be seen in at least 2 hemispheres of the planet!
And TOMORROW! Back here at the website, okay? And I'll post the little riff from the song for you to hear.
Cool?

And... what else? Oh yeah!
This silly song and video have now been seen and heard around the world by well over a quarter million people.
We live in a very cool, very odd time in history.

And if you read yesterday's update, you know that until this country begins to regain any sense of the principle and dignity it claims... I will keep writing songs and making videos like this one.

You might wanna check out my original thoughts by hitting this link. I received an awful lot of email in response to this update. Most of the people who dig my music are people who just "get it".
But what I saw downtown on Saturday on parade with a group afraid of the "Islamization of America"(Whatever the fuck that means in their fantastic, fear-driven little minds.) ...was not only a disgrace, but also an inspiration and another source of gratitude for the people in my life and the work I was meant to do.
So we keep going!

But let me leave you today with a wonderful moment from just a few Saturdays ago!
"Hill" regular, Sid Bernstein(The man who brought The Beatles to America) was out there again and I strung a few cables together to get a microphone to him so he could sing to the crowd.
And he's gonna be with us this coming Saturday to sing with all of you!!!!

Thank you to Laura Manske for catching that beautiful moment on video forever.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
