The last day of September and tomorrow is October 1.
Here's a little...
ALERT!!!!
James Marino (The man I call the "Evil Genius" who built this website) is moving the whole shebang to another server!
SO!!!!! This site might be a little bit up and down for the next few days. A little bit "here" and "not here". A little bit... well... let's just say...
I hope James doesn't break the internet again!
So, I'll leave you guys with a couple of thoughts today and a repeat of another update, and... um... and...
Well, I guess a lot of people might think that I'd feel sad to be saying goodbye to another typically amazing year, hangin' out with so many beautiful people, sharing music and laughs, stories, thoughts and feelings.
And yeah... I do feel a little sadness to be winding down another season.
But y'know? I learned many years ago that is very human to feel many emotions all at once... sometimes conflicting emotions, all at the same time. So I hafta say the overriding emotion for me most days is "gratitude". And then if you know me at all, you know I'm usually in a state of "excitement" about the next possibility. Damn! We had a LOT of fun out there this year. And it's not over yet!!!
So yeah, we'll be in Central Park just a few more times in the month of October to close out year #19. And there are so many cool things goin' on. We'll be at "The Hill" this coming Saturday by a wonderful Brazilian filmmaker who is going to include me and all of you who show up in a film project he's working on to help make this world a smaller more peaceful place. (More about that in a minute.)
And it's already time for me start getting excited about "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" at Merkin Concert Hall near Lincoln Center on December 11th.
Tell you what... if you're new around here... seriously, you might wanna check out the ARCHIVE to see what we've been up to around here. there are lots of FREE songs to download, lots of original video, lots of Photoshop images and cartoons... stories, thoughts, feelings and views on social issues that have affected us all over the years. Good stuff.
And here are a couple of photo galleries from this season and last.
(No matter where in the world you're reading this, if you've ever hung out with me you might find your smiling face in one of the galleries!!!)
Like I told you yesterday... a wonderful filmmaker from Brazil, from San Francisco, um... from the planet earth... Moises Nascimento is comin' to New York and heading out to "The Hill" with us to film a very special song with me. It's a song about... PEACE. It's a song about the Love that is inside each and every one of us. If you're gonna be in town, I want you to think about heading out to be a part of it. He's making a very special movie called "Duas Americas". (Two Americas)

And I would LOVE for you to be a part of this project in a very fun and very real way!!!! Get yourself familiar with that little riff and then be ready to sing it out loud for the entire world. I think it would be really cool if all of you on "The Hill" sang it with us.... LOUD!!!!
So this coming Saturday, head out to Central Park and be a part of the making of this wonderful film that, hopefully, will be seen in at least 2 hemispheres of the planet!
Cool?
Y'know who I think is gonna jam on the song with all of us!?
Ryan Cavan and Teresa Reynolds.

Okay just some more stuff to read!
On Saturday the Sun really comes out and we have a very special day in Central Park. There's so much going on... a movie to be shot on Saturday afternoon with all of you. I've got a special friend, a gifted photographer named Tracy, flying all the way in from California to hang out on "The Hill". Got Ryan Cavan coming to sit in.

Y'know? Every single time I put my guitar on my shoulder and stand by that lake it turns into something special. Each day out there over all these years of being "that Guitar Man from Central Park" has been special and amazing in it's own way.
But this weekend, we've got something very different happening out there.
FIRST -- welcome to all of you who are checking in from across the country and in different parts of the world. We had another great afternoon in the park this past Saturday.
Got sooooo many cool things comin' up on the horizon. Who's the luckiest independent artist in the world?
I am, right?
This Saturday Teresa Reynolds is supposed to show up in Central Park again, so she's gonna be singin' on the song with all of us for sure.

Now like I said, I hope this new film is seen by people around the world. But...
This silly song and video have now been seen and heard around the world by well over a quarter million people. We live in a very cool, very odd time in history.
If you haven't seen it yet...

Let me leave you today with a wonderful moment from just 2 Saturdays ago!
"Hill" regular, Sid Bernstein(The man who brought The Beatles to America) was out there again and I strung a few cables together to get a microphone to him so he could sing to the crowd.

Thank you to Laura Manske for catching that beautiful moment on video forever.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
