This week, we're gonna have some fun around here! We'll have some new photos here, some new video. I'm gonna be adding the email addresses you guys put in the book this past Saturday. Gonna share part of a brand new song with you guys.
And I'll probably have a little something to say about that national embarrassment that's happening just a few miles downtown. (So many people who claim to love America have almost no comprehension of what this country is supposed to be about, or what real human decency, genuine courage and principle are. And it's part of my job to sing out about it.) But we'll get to that later.
Welcome to everyone who's checking in here from a different part of the country or a different part of the world.
Here in New York City, I just have to start of a new week by telling you guys that I still don't have any word about this coming Saturday. I really hoping to see you guys for a while this coming Saturday afternoon. We haven't been issued a Special Events Permit yet, so our best chance at that is a good guy we've worked with over at the Parks Department who's got the authority to say if it's a "Go".
But... Ha! Check back here before you start emailing The Parks Department or the Central Park Conservancy, okay?
This past Saturday was another typically amazing day.
Were you out there with me?
Whew! What a great time!
I'll be back with some video tomorrow. But for right now, here are a whole bunch of photos from this past Saturday which were sent in by publicist Laura Manske, and that will be added to this year's gallery.

And the beautiful and talented Teresa Reynolds was back out there again. Her love, Nathan, is on leave from the Navy and made it out to Central Park to hear sing out there for the first time! We had so much fun.

And here's one that Ms. Manske took of the two of them that they just gotta have!

Okay listen... when I play in the park, I get to share my music, my thoughts, my feelings, a whole bunch of laughs, some stories... I get to share my time with people from all over. You just never know what's gonna happen out there at "The Hill".
Like a couple of weeks ago, there was a small group of beautiful women and men from Spain and Italy, hangin' out with at "The Hill" and they asked for a song that I didn't know. So I strung a few microphone cables together and let them have at it.
What a blast! I love this town!!!!

"Hill" regular, Sid Bernstein(The man who brought The Beatles to America) was out there again and I strung a few cables together to get a microphone to him so he could sing to the crowd.

Very cool
I'll try have video of that here tomorrow!!!! In fact I'll be back all week with new stuff!

And listen, I've been getting a lot of email from people telling me how much it means to them and how much they are looking forward to spending a Peaceful day with me and my guitar next Saturday. I'm gonna do my best to make absolutely certain I can join you next weekend at "The Hill", even if only for a few hours on Saturday, September 11.
You'll hafta check back. I'm gonna do my best to make that happen.

Right now, here's that current song and video of mine that stirred up little ruckus last week among people who just don't "get it". (But it also brought out the best of 95% of the people who listen to my music and visit this site.)
This is the newest song that's makin' the rounds on the internet. It's about the national disgrace and embarrassment to all thoughtful people everywhere that's happening downtown in my own hometown.
You might wanna check out my original thoughts by hitting this link. I received an awful lot of email in response to both updates. Most of the people who dig my music are people who just "get it".
But the written word didn't seem enough for me as an artist. So in the last couple of days, I buried myself "in the cave" and wrote a new song.

Like I said, there are also some fun videos making their way around the country and around the world. Here's one about the upcoming final installments of the Harry Potter series of movies. It's a song about the character, Hermione Granger.

Now, that other song about "Facebook... Idiot" is still rocketing around the world. As of today, almost a quarter of a million people all around the planet are passing it around. (Must struck a chord inside a few people.)
If you haven't seen it yet...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
