Welcome to the website.

Hello to all of you checking in from different parts of the country and different parts of the world.

One more time... I understand that LaPlata High School remembered my pal, Pete, yesterday.

Here's a free download for anyone visiting here for the first time today.

HERE TODAY

So long, Pete.

.

.

THANK YOU to all of you who emailed me after my interview with Valerie Smaldone on WOR Radio yesterday.

Yeah, it was a fun interview. But since we were around the corner it figure that the subject of that Islamic-run Cultural Center downtown came up. I began to explain the reaction I got from many of you here at this site after this update I wrote.

When Valerie jumped in and asked, "You do understand why this is a very tough issue for some people... you DO understand!"

My response was basically... I understand why it's a tough feeling. But if this is America... there is no issue.

Well, here...

Moving on.

Well, yesterday here at the site I posted a whole bunch of photos from this past Saturday in Central Park.

I added a bunch of them to this year's photo gallery.

But y'know? This past Friday night we closed another series of beautiful sunset concerts down in the village. Out of all the years I've played that event down there this one was by far the most fun. the staff was great. The sound was great. the people in the crowd were so cool.

And the last sunset couldn't have been more perfect... from the sunset itself, to the memory you all gave me by singing me off into the night with a Bob Marley tune.

Very cool.

Hangin' out with the "below-fourteenth-street crowd" was something very special this year. It just makes me love the city in which I live. i mean, I say it all the time.... but New York City is Florence During the Renaissance. It's filled with some of the most open-minded, most Creative, most fun, evolved, tolerant, kindest, generous and truly thoughtful people on the planet.

Unlike so much of this country, New York is the only truly diverse, completely international experiment that works... every single day.

So, I'm gonna celebrate the end of that season with a nice photo gallery made up of photos sent into the website from publicist Laura Manske, gig-regular and good guy Phil Carracci, and a few others.

Okay, Listen... I'll be back tomorrow with another batch pf photos from last Saturday in Central Park.

But for right now and for anyone who's new at the site, the newest song that's makin' the rounds on the internet is my new song about the upcoming final installments of the Harry Potter series of movies. It's a song about the character, Hermione Granger.

Here... click on the image to check out the song and watch the video.

Now one more thing about that song!

IT IS AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO DOWNLOAD!!!

I'm serious!

Now you can download the song itself, and walk around with it in your ipod or mp3 player and sing it to yourself on the bus, in the subway, in the car... while you're on facebook.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
