Here we are, just kinda getting into another week... and in just a few nights I'll be back down in The Village for the "Sunset on the Hudson" concert series. And then on Saturday afternoon I'll be back home at "The Hill" in Central Park.

Y'know? I was just thinkin' about it. I always say how lucky I feel as a man and as an artist. But this morning for some reason it's really hitting me. Last weekend, in a 24 hour period... I actually have no idea how many people with whom I'd shared my music and stories.

"The Hill" in Central Park is a very organic, living, breathing, constantly evolving audience. People are sitting down, coming and going all day. There is no definitive beginning middle and end in the flow of an afternoon. So in Central Park alone, I hang with thousands of people from all across the country and all around the world in one day. Thousands of people from all across the country and all around the world... in one day.

And I get to do that EVERY week!!!!

Here's another handful of photos from both gigs last weekend.

And if you wanna see more photos from both gigs this past weekend and others, here's a little photo gallery that's growing every week thanks to people like Sean Friedman, Mary Saliba, Jaan Lutter, Mike Lancaster and others who send in their work... especially Laura Manske!)

So listen...

I sent a couple of Tweets out yesterday expressing my frustration with the state of this nation. I know. I know. I wrote a piece of work called "The Last Protest Song". But I hafta write another song that speaks to what's going on.... or rather what's NOT going on in this country today.

The fact that President Obama has refused to prosecute or even investigate the myriad of U.S. and International laws that were broken by the Bush administration, and the fact that Guantanamo Bay remains an open wound on our principles and soul, and the reality that there is no substantive change in the way corporately-funded Washington D.C. works for the wealthy... affirm a feeling that is more than disappointing.

It is tragic.

The only thing more repulsive than the spinelessness of the Democratic Party is the hypocrisy and repugnant rhetoric across the board from Republicans, the Right Wing and the mouthpieces of this "Tea Party Movement". And in my experience, many people who call themselves "Conservatives" reveal themselves more and more to be selfish, fear-driven and selectively-moral about issues that concern basic human decency.

I've got more to write.

THE LAST PROTEST SONG

Back to some stuff that can help us smile!

Again... for any newcomers who heard the song about "Hermione" in Central Park last weekend -- I told you that the video is a lot of fun.

The new song and music video about "Hermione..." is making it's way out there into the world. (And now it's available on itunes!) And the song about "Facebook..." is still being shared by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. It's a very cool... very strange time in which we live!

Let's get right to the "Harry Potter" video. Seriously! When I get an idea that is this silly, this fun, this ridiculous... it just HAS to be done!

HERE'S THE SONG AND VIDEO!

Now one more thing about that song!

IT IS AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO DOWNLOAD!!!

I'm serious!

Now you can download the song itself, and walk around with it in your ipod or mp3 player and sing it to yourself on the bus, in the subway, in the car... while you're on facebook.

.

If you like this song and video, go ahead and send the link to everyone you know if you think it might make them smile.

ROCK on!!!

And if you wanna leave a comment about the song or have any questions about the video, just go ahead and leave a comment here!

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
