Welcome to the website.

I looked at the stats and I see that there are more and more and more people checking in here. Of course, it is summer and that's the time when I have my guitar on my shoulder the most and when I get to hang out with the most people from different parts of the country and different parts of the world in the middle of the coolest city on the planet.

FIRST -- Gotta tell you! Two of the freakiest things have happened with 2 of my silliest songs. The music video for "Facebook is a Stupid Idiot" has been watched and shared by nearly a quarter of a million people around the planet.

And then newest song about the upcoming Harry Potter movie was just published in Seventeen Magazine or what is "officially" called "Cosmo Girl".

Too funny.

.

This past weekend was one of those golden weekends. I played the Sun down on Pier 45 in The Village on Friday night. And then on Saturday I headed back to "The Hill" in Central Park.

IN YESTERDAY'S UPDATE I posted a whole bunch of photos. I'm gonna post another batch today.

It was such a typically amazing day on Saturday. I shared music, stories and laughs with thousands of people. Sid Bernstein, the man who brought The Beatles to America hung out like he always does. I was joined at the microphone by two of my favorite artists to sing with, Teresa Reynolds... and Dave Marcus who made a surprise appearance all the way up from Maryland.. It's hard to put into words the "happening" that happens out there.

I'm a very lucky man.

And as usual, a couple of newlywed couples stopped by to share their first dance with us.

Seriously.... yesterday's photos and these photos only give to the very slightest idea of the magic, the fun, the warmth, the laughter, the nuttiness, shining faces and smiles I get to see all weekend. Thanks to Laura Manske for showing up with her camera every week and capturing these moments, and then sending them in to the website.

Here are some photos from the gig the Friday night before down in The Village for the "Sunset on the Hudson" concert series. Different location... same kinda wonderfully, uniquely New York gig.

Now one more thing about that song!

IT IS AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO DOWNLOAD!!!

I'm serious!

Now you can download the song itself, and walk around with it in your ipod or mp3 player and sing it to yourself on the bus, in the subway, in the car... while you're on facebook.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
