Hangin' out with so many cool people in The Village on the Hudson River, playing music as the Sun goes down in the West.... and then Teresa Reynolds shows up to jump in and sing a few songs.
And I also got to introduce you all to a brand new song that I've just written. That's always kind of exciting for me. (Although I screwed up the new lyric. Okay, I'll try it again today.)
'Cause TODAY -- look at the great, great, great weather here in NYC today!!!
We've all been really lucky so far this year weather-wise. Today... low 80s, low humidity. A perfect, perfect, perfect day to put a guitar on my shoulder, stand by The Lake in Central Park and share music and stories and laughs with a few thousand people.
Y'know? If you've been comin' around here for a while you must realize in these updates I always make it sound like I'm amazed by the whole phenomenon... the very fact that I get to be "That Guitar Man from Central Park".
I am.
After all these years I'm still blown away by the fact of what I get to do as an artist and as a man. And so I spend most of my time in a state of nearly constant amazement, gratitude and wonder.
So if you're in town... get thee to the park!!!!!
.
If you're staying in town while all the really annoying people head to The Hamptons, I hope I see you out there hangin' with me and a few thousand of our closest friends. For anyone who's new around here... go back through the Archive and catch up a little.
Okay listen, I'm out in Central Park today sharing music and stories and laughs with people from NYC. from all across the country and all over the world. I'm a very lucky man. If you're checking in here for the first time and you wanna join us out there, here's a little map to help you find that spot in the park we call "The Hill".

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
