Welcome back to the website.

Man!

If you've been coming around here for the past week or so, you know that I'm workin' on a new song. Well, there's an old expression in the theater which has become a Creative axiom for me. If you really wanna get it right, they say, "95% of directing... is casting."

That's absolutely true. If the right actors/artists are cast for any particular part, most of the work is already done.

That's true in music as well. When I've written a song, and then it's time to produce and record it, 95% of the work is done if I call the right artists in on the project. I say it over and over again... I'm the luckiest man alive. One of the reasons is that I have the most amazingly open-hearted, generous, funniest, special people with whom I share the stage and my work. Besides all that... they happen to be ridiculously talented and so fuckin' good at what they do.

Y'know that brand new song that I ran past you guys this weekend?

Wait'll you hear what George Wurzbach is bringing to it on the piano track! And Nelson Montana... well, if I could be a bass player, I'd be Nelson.

I'm probably gonna let you guys in on the Creative process as well. There are 2 ways I'm thinking about going with the song.... putting a James-Taylor-like guitar vibe on it, or making it primarily a song for piano. I might let all of you decide which way to go. We'll see. The song is called "You Might Be Her".

In the meantime... I'm back today with some more photos from this past weekend in Central Park.

. . . . . . . . . . .

.

And a little later this week, I'm gonna do a whole update with a bunch of photos from our Friday nights at the "Sunset on the Hudson" concerts.

This week we've gotta celebrate the last sunset we get to share in 2010
down there on Pier 45 in The Village.

Okay? So check back.

Again....for any newcomers who heard the song about "Hermione" in Central Park last weekend -- I told you that the video is a lot of fun.

The new song and music video about "Hermione..." is making it's way out there into the world. (And now it's available on itunes!) And the song about "Facebook..." is still being shared by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. It's a very cool... very strange time in which we live!

Let's get right to the "Harry Potter" video. Seriously! When I get an idea that is this silly, this fun, this ridiculous... it just HAS to be done!

HERE'S THE SONG AND VIDEO!

Now one more thing about that song!

IT IS AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO DOWNLOAD!!!

I'm serious!

Now you can download the song itself, and walk around with it in your ipod or mp3 player and sing it to yourself on the bus, in the subway, in the car... while you're on facebook.

.

If you like this song and video, go ahead and send the link to everyone you know if you think it might make them smile.

ROCK on!!!

And if you wanna leave a comment about the song or have any questions about the video, just go ahead and leave a comment here!

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
