Welcome to all of you who are checking in here from different parts of the country and different parts of the world.
. Welcome to THE WEEKEND!

.
It's Friday -- and here in New York City that means tonight is another installment of the "Sunset on the Hudson" concert series in Hudson River Park down in The Village. I always have an amazing time playing the Sun down with the below-fourteenth-street crowd.
But as always, it's an outdoor event so it's "weather-permitting"
On these hot summer days, the weather tends to be a little unsettled and popcorn thunderstorms can appear during late afternoon and evening. So if you're planning on joining me on Pier 45 tonight, make sure you check back up until around 5:30. That's the best I can do as far as advanced warning of a rain-out. (I'm hoping to get some music and some laughs in tonight, but we'll hafta see how it goes.) If it's a "go"... the MUSIC STARTS AT 7:00 It's a very cool thing. Just take the #1 train to Christopher Street and walk west until you either see me, or you get wet, or wind up in Jersey. (I'll be hangin' out in the middle of the Hudson River at the end of Pier 45.) Gotta be a cool breeze out there!!!

Okay, now I say this all the time... but... I feel like the luckiest man alive. I love my life. I love writing songs and singin' them for you guys, and I love the people in my Life. I love helping people smile and laugh, helping them to think and wonder, and helping them to feel. I'm an unapologetic "possibility-junkie" -- and so are most of my friends and colleagues. One day in my Life every rarely resembles the day before.
I'm a lucky man.
Now, this week has been kind of emotional for me. Up - down - all over.
Got some really sad news. Got some really wonderful news. Faced some frustration, and did some successful and fulfilling Creative work. But y'know?
Life is NOT a problem to be solved, but rather a mystery to be really lived!

ARE YOU GONNA COME OUT TO CENTRAL PARK TOMORROW AFTERNOON AND HANG WITH ME?
I think tomorrow is gonna be the best day of the weekend.
I'm gonna start playing and singin' around 1:00 like I always do and hang with you guys, until I fall over.... usually around 5:30 or 6:00. If you're not doin' anything, come on out. "The Hill" by The Lake is almost completely in the shade most of the day and there's usually a nice cool breeze blowing in Central Park.
Of course, it's always weather-permitting. But once again I have a good feeling about tomorrow. So if you're gonna stay in town this weekend, come on out and hang under a shady tree on "The Hill" or soak up some Sun.

(Of course, every straight man on the planet clicked these photos... I saw you!)
Oh and y'know what!?
One of the finest singers I've ever been lucky enough to work with is gonna come out and sit in again tomorrow... TERESA REYNOLDS.
She's coming out to "The Hill" and she's decided to make it a regular thing for the rest of the summer. Believe me, after you spend just one song with this beautiful and talented and sweet woman, you're gonna be hooked. (It's just gonna make what I do THAT much more fun for me!)

Here's a little photo gallery that's growing every week thanks to people like Sean Friedman, Mary Saliba, Jaan Lutter, Mike Lancaster and others who send in their work... especially Laura Manske!)
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
