Who's the luckiest independent artist in this town?
I am, right?
Damn! I love my life. One day very rarely resembles the day before. And I have the most amazing people, the most Creative people, the kindest, funniest, adventurous and coolest people all around me.
.
Before I get into the update today, I hafta do something I promised a little while ago. (And in my world... a promise is a promise.)
So, here we go. This is for a young lady from Scotland who made a very special trip to New York with her Mom and brother a little while ago.
Today I've got some good news... and some bad news.
The good news is that I will be playing the Sun down as the "Sunset on the Hudson" concert series continues tonight.
Here's the rundown...
TONIGHT at 7:00 -- I'm heading down to hang out with the "below-fourteenth-street crowd". We always have a good time on Pier 45 at the end of Christopher Street in the Village.
Here are some photos from last week's gig with the "below-fourteenth-street" crowd.

NOW LISTEN -- when the weather is this hot and unsettled it's always smart to check this website up until late in the afternoon to see if there are any thunderstorms that will rain us out. There's some weather heading this way, so check back up until about 5:30 and I'll let you know what's what. That's the best I can do.
MUSIC STARTS AT 7:00 It's a very cool thing. Just take the #1 train to Christopher Street and walk west until you either see me, or you get wet, or wind up in Jersey. (I'll be hangin' out in the middle of the Hudson River at the end of Pier 45.) Gotta be a cool breeze out there!!!
.
NOW... the bad news.
Once again, The Permit Office has not issued a Special Events Permit for us to hang out tomorrow in Central Park.
I'm really sorry guys.
It's been an ongoing situation with them over there for only the past few years. Kind of a shame. But y'just gotta roll with life. Sometimes, some things... some things... just... y'know...
suck.
But, here's a little photo gallery of our summer so far. I think the smiles and the laughter and the music are worth it, don't you?

And here are some of the fun videos which people have been passing around.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
