Hmmmmm...

Music in Central Park today?

Hmmmmmm.... yeah what the hell. Let's go.

Well let me start out as I always do welcoming everybody in different parts of the country and different parts of the world. It's Saturday, so here in New York City this is usually the day i put my guitar on my back and head to "The Hill" in Central Park.

Okay...

Okay, what the hell. I'm gonna head on out there. If we get rained on we get wet. We might even see the Sun by about 2:30 or 3:00.

Maybe we'll get started a little later than usual.

IF today is a wash-out, maybe I'll make a few phone calls and see if we can hang tomorrow. Either way, when we get out there it's probably gonna be another hot and sticky one.

But listen... "The Hill" is one of the coolest, shadiest, breeziest places in Manhattan. So I hope I see you out there if we can make it. If you've never been out there, here's a little map to show you exactly where we are. I'm usually playing from around 12:30 - until I fall over... usually around 5:30 or 6:00. So we'll see if we can get a few hours of music and laughs in this afternoon.... maybe a little late.

WERE YOU DOWNTOWN WITH ME LAST NIGHT?

Did you play the Sun down with me at the "Sunset on the Hudson" concert last night? If you did... thanks so much for hangin'. I had a great time. I've grown to dig that gig down there on Pier 45 in The Village more and more over the years.

.

This has been another really wild week here at the site.

Let's see... like I was tellin' you guys downtown last night, my song about facebook has gone viral, shot over 100,000 views on Youtube and might hit the quarter million mark in a week or so. So strange. And there was a piece done about it in COSMOPOLITAN MAGAZINE earlier this week.

I never thought I'd see the day that Cosmo would do a feature on me, unless it was one of those "10 Reasons Why Men are Clueless". But I certainly think it's kinda fun to be on their front page, no matter what the reason. (And yeah.... ladies. I'm semi-clueless at times!)

I just think it's cool that Zoe, who wrote the article, used the word "shmoopy"! Ah.... Seinfeld memories!

Okay...

To all my new friends in India who are passing that video around...

Oh man! I hope that's right!

(Hope I didn't just insult somebody's grandmother!)

.

We're having a great season so far here in New York. If you've been out there and you have any photos you'd like to share with the world, send them into this site. Maybe we'll get them posted here.

This gallery is growing every week thanks to people like Sean Friedman, Mary Saliba, Jaan Lutter, Mike Lancaster and others who send in their work... especially Laura Manske!)

Now!!!! Like I said...

IN WEDNESDAY'S UPDATE... I told you guys that the video for my song about Facebook wound up in a blog by Zoe Ruderman for Cosmopolitan Magazine.

Go check it out. I had fun talkin' to her about the song and the video.

It's so cool. Over a hundred thousand people all around the planet are passing it around. (Must struck a chord inside a few people.)

If you haven't seen it yet...

Pass it on to all you friends. Post in anywhere you want!

I'M ALREADY WORKIN' ON A FOLLOW-UP FOR THAT VIDEO!!!! Brand new song. Brand new idea.

I have one question for you guys. Have you seen any of the Harry Potter movies?

On Thursday I had one of the best bass players in New York and one of the best female vocalists anywhere jump in on a brand new song that is so, so, so, so, so much fucking fun!

I can't wait for you guys to hear it.

.

Soon.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
