But The Permit Office didn't issue us a Special Events Permit for today. (I think in their minds it has something to do with the Triathalon which is being held.... tomorrow.)
But, listen.... we've had a little situation like this for just the last few years. It's not the agreement we had with Administrator Doug Blonsky years ago, but don't let it bother you too much. Mr. Blonsky is a good guy. I don't think he's aware of this stuff.
No big deal.
Just get out there and enjoy this day, and I'll see you next weekend.
Who's the luckiest man alive?
I feel like I am.
.
I hope we all feel that way.
I absolutely LOVE my life. What a ride!
In the meantime -- welcome to all of you checking in here from different parts of the country and different parts o the world. If you're visiting New York City and really wanted to come out to "The Hill" today, again.... I'm sorry.
.
LAST NIGHT -- I had another kinda of amazing night.
I've been playing the "Sunset on the Hudson" concert series again this year... (Oh hell, I AM the concert series! Ha!) And it's been a particularly fun year so far.
A friend of mine and a wonderful singer/songwriter named Mark Aaron James stopped by and did a song of his. The people who hung out with me were typically fun and beautiful. I got to run a brand new song passed you guys.

But something even more amazing might have happened for me personally. We'll see. Might have been one of those special nights in a lifetime.
(Or not.)
I'll be back tomorrow with lots of photos from last night, sent in to the website by the tireless Laura Manske.
So TODAY -- I'm just headed up to The Bronx with a good friend and hopefully watch The Yankees pull away from The Rays in the American League East.... and it's "Old timer's Day". So, that's always cool and filled with great tradition!
.
Um... but here's something very cool and very weird!
"FACEBOOK IS STUPID IDIOT" has now been viewed by over 170,000 people around the world. If you want a version of that song to download for your ipod or mp3 player...
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT NOW!
I'm serious!
Now you can download the song itself, and walk around with it in your ipod or mp3 player and sing it to yourself on the bus, in the subway, in the car.... while you're on facebook.
Click on this link and get the song right now!!!

And here's the video that is still circling the planet.

I've got a secret that I'm gonna reveal here at the website in the upcoming weeks. It's about an upcoming movie release and I don't think you're gonna hear about it anywhere else but at this website... maybe eventually on Youtube once I tell you guys.
So check back often and I'll keep you posted.

Here's a little photo gallery that's growing every week thanks to people like Sean Friedman, Mary Saliba, Jaan Lutter, Mike Lancaster and others who send in their work... especially Laura Manske!)

And here are some of the fun videos which people have been passing around.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
