Email started pouring in yesterday from people who were disappointed about the fact that I wasn't in Central Park yesterday. Some of you headed out there and waited. You guys hafta check the website every day, okay?
It truly wasn't my fault. The Permit Office at the Parks Department didn't issue us a Special Events Permit for yesterday. Hopefully, we'll be you there with a little more regularity for the rest of the summer. But I can't guarantee that. (Ha! I have no idea about the reasoning in that office over the past few years! I really don't. I think someone over there just doesn't like me!)
.
BUT!!!!
I got up to Yankee Stadium yesterday, and even though The Yankees looked pretty awful against The Rays, had a great time with a good friend at Old Timer's Day. (And besides, since opening day and the half dozen or so games I've been to this season... that was the first loss I've seen. So we had to get that out of the way!)
Maybe I'll head back up there today to see if I can help them out.
Welcome to everyone checkin' in here from across the country and around the world. Here in NYC we had a wonderful time in Hudson River Park on Friday night!
If you were down there with me, you know. We sang, We laughed. Fellow singer/songwriter Mark Aaron James stopped by to do a song. That little man, Jacob, got up and cranked out The Rolling Stones "You Can't Always Get What You Want". You guys got to see a beautiful sunset... but I got to see all your shining faces.
Very cool.
Here are some images sent in to the website by Laura Manske.

NOW!
Okay, you guys are already aware that the song "Facebook is a Stupid Idiot" is making it's way across the country and around the world because of Youtube. (Very bizarre.)
But I'm absolutely chompin' at the bit to release the new song and video!!!
I can't do that until all the pieces are in place. But, I can ask you guys this...
How many of you saw the very first Harry Potter movie 10 years ago? How many of you think you might see the final installments that are coming out this Fall?
.
I wrote a brand new song and, this past week, shot a video to go along with it. Keep checking back. It will be released on this website first!
In the meantime... Here's a little photo gallery that's growing every week thanks to people like Sean Friedman, Mary Saliba, Jaan Lutter, Mike Lancaster and others who send in their work... especially Laura Manske!)

And here are some of the fun videos which people have been passing around.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
