Welcome to every single person who's just discovered this website! I hope you bookmark this page and come back EVERY day!
ME?
In the last 48 hours I just went through a little experience that brought up a lot of old feelings, some of them not-so-good. It was kind of... I don't know... it was all just a little bit surreal. BUT... it makes me wanna put something Good into the world and give something away for free. So, just for any newcomers, here are a couple of songs to download for free.
CRAZY ON THE SAME DAY
KEEP HOPE ALIVE
Here we are in July...
More importantly, here we are on a Friday before a holiday weekend in New York City and I have a whole bunch of things to tell you guys.
FIRST OF ALL... here in town, it's another "Get-Outta Town" day. I know there are an awful lot of you reading this in different parts of the world. But here in the U.S., this weekend is when we celebrate the birth of a beautiful idea in self-governance. (I'm probably gonna have something to say about what I think has happened to that beautiful idea, and how fear has driven those principles out of the hearts of many who call themselves "Right Wing Conservatives" in this country. It's also sad that there doesn't seem to be a spine to support principle on the Democrat side of the aisle either. But that's for another update this weekend.)
So for a lot of people here in New York City today is...
Get outta town day!
.
.
But for people like me, it's the start exactly the kind of weekend I really love in this town.
It's when most of the really annoying people head to The Hamptons!!!
It's when most parts of the city, except for the HUGE tourist areas like Times Square and South Ferry, slow down... quiet down. Streets on the Upper West side, Upper East Side, The Village, SoHo all kinda empty out a little and the pace is more relaxed and easy. I love this town all the time. But I really love hangin' out on holiday weekends in the summer when so many millions of people are frantically and frenetically hitting the road so they can hurry to get someplace else....
...to relax.
.
So yeah, tomorrow I'm gonna kick back, put my guitar on my shoulder and head to Central Park.

.
Oh, but before we get to all of that, gotta tell you that there will be NO concert to watch the Sun go down tonight. "The Sunset on the Hudson" Concert Series will pick up again next Friday night.
Okay... I'm not gonna be playing down in The Village tonight.
TOMORROW!!!!!
Tomorrow is gonna be a very cool day in the park. I can feel it. I have a couple of surprises for you guys. (Just like that park always has a couple of surprises for me every weekend!)
So if you're in town, head out there.
For one thing, I'm pretty damned sure that one of the finest female singers in the city is gonna be hangin' out tomorrow. So you know me.... there's no way we're not singing together. I'm gonna keep it a surprise for tomorrow.
If you've never been out there, here's a little map to show you exactly where we are. I'll be playing from around 12:30 - until I fall over... usually around 5:30 or 6:00
