If you were out in Central Park with me yesterday...
THANK YOU!
What a very cool day!
AND you hafta check back in just a little while. (OR tomorrow) Because I'm gonna have lotsa photos and maybe some new video from yesterday. Teresa Reynolds, Kathi Gillmore and... and... Winston! And maybe YOU. There were so many cameras going off all day and there were so many shining smiling faces out there with me.
Very cool.
Hope you guys are all enjoying the holiday today. It really does commemorate quite a remarkable event... the birth of a progressive, forward-thinking, secular nation of free people. (Well, okay... started out with a few big problems like slavery and women couldn't vote. And, our present elected officials as well as a large percentage of The People have lost sight of most of the basic, founding principles. But still, the reason behind Independence Day is good to remember and celebrate.)

Here at the website these days, largely because if the song "Facebook is a Stupid Idiot", there are thousands and thousands of people checking in here from different parts of this country and different parts of the world. (Me? I wish ALL the flags would come down and we could all be just one big ol' earth. But that's probably a few generations away.)
So in the meantime, welcome to a little slice of New York City.
OH.... and for all my new friends from India... again...
.
I guess the wild news for today is that the "Facebook... Idiot" song is rocketing around the world. the damned thing went viral and over 100,000 people have watched it and are passing it on to people all around the planet. (Must struck a chord inside a few people.)
If you haven't seen it yet...

Okay, for anyone who's new around here... go back through the Archive and catch up a little. And here are a few videos to make you smile.
As much as I love writing songs, I get an even bigger charge from watching you guys smile and hearing you singin' the words to many of my original songs. What a blast!
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
