Hey!

Ssssoooooooooooo many people are hitting this website from all around the world as the result of my new song "Facebook is a Stupid Idiot". That's just fun and very cool!!!

Woke up this morning and saw this on Youtube.

But listen -- if you're lucky enough to be here in New York City this weekend, start it off by hangin' out with me in Central Park today. We'll laugh about a video goin' viral.

Y'know what I'm doing to celebrate the holiday?

I'm staying in town to sing with a few thousand of my friends. BUT! I'll also have two really cool surprises for you guys who hang with me today.

I took this shot from a plane flying
into LaGuardia.

Damn! I LOVE this town on holiday weekends! I really do. Downtown in Times Square and over by the rivers there are throngs of tourists and New Yorkers mingling to celebrate the day. But uptown, the streets are empty. Columbus Avenue... Broadway... the traffic is light and the livin' is easy. The whole town seems to slow down and quiet down for 3 days until the masses of get-outta-towners start scrambling back late Monday afternoon.

Perfect day to put my guitar on my shoulder and hang out with a few thousand really close friends who also decided to stay here, kick back and relax.... just enjoy the magnificent town we call home.

New York City.

.

TODAY... Teresa Reynolds is coming out to "The Hill" for the very first time. I hoping that after we sing some songs together, she decides to make it a regular thing for the rest of the summer. Believe me, after you spend just one song with this beautiful and talented and sweet woman, you're gonna be hooked. (It's just gonna make what I do THAT much more fun for me!)

Gonna be fun. I have a few songs we gotta try today!!!!

.

Y'know? In a tiny way this is as much my day as it is America's.

I am a fiercely Independent artist and... this is "Independence Day Weekend".

SO JOIN ME OUT THERE TODAY!!!!

Hey! Besides my new song "Facebook is a Stupid Idiot", I wanna share another moment from Central Park that happened just last weekend.

Last Saturday afternoon.

This was pretty cool.

Okay sure, I massacred the song. But we had a lot of fun with this little musical train wreck.

I guess the wild news for today is that the "Facebook... Idiot" song is rocketing around the world. Tens of thousands of people all around the planet are passing it around. (Must struck a chord inside a few people.)

If you haven't seen it yet...

Gotta tell you...

As much as I love writing songs, I get an even bigger charge from watching you guys smile and hearing you singin' the words to many of my original songs. What a blast!

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
