Okay... okay, I know I said yesterday that I would let you know about tomorrow in Central Park.
But I haven't heard anything from the people at The Parks Department. So I'm just gonna kick off the "Sunset on the Hudson" concert series tonight... share some music and laughs to start the weekend.
If you're checking in here to see if I'm gonna be playing in Central Park tomorrow.... the answer unfortunately is... I don't know yet. The people in the Permit Office at The Parks Department didn't give us a permit for tomorrow.
(Believe it or not, I think it might have something to do with a parade on Sunday. I know. I know.) So unless I hear back, I won't see you in Central Park until next Saturday.
.
Sorry.
Bummer, I know. But what're ya gonna do.
Might rain anyway.
BUT TONIGHT...
If you're not doing anything tonight and the weather cooperates, tonight will be the first concert of the "Sunset on the Hudson" series. I'm heading downtown now. So, we'll hang out and sing together.
It's a very cool thing. Just take the #1 train to Christopher Street and walk west until you either see me, or you get wet, or wind up in Jersey. (I'll be hangin' out in the middle of the Hudson River at the end of Pier 45)
Same kind of hang as in Central Park, only this goes from 7:00 to 9pm and we play the sun down with the Statue of Liberty looking on. Like just about everything else I do, it's FREE.
If you're not doing anything and you need to get that fix of that "It's Just Us" feeling, head down to Pier 45 at the very end of Christopher Street. Bring a blanket and hang out with the below-fourteenth-street-crowd.
.
Now...
Got a lot of nice email about this update I posted last week, so here it is again.
.
.
.
Once again... WE INTERRUPT THIS UPDATE WITH A:
SPECIAL EDITION UPDATE
Click on this image to read the exclusive story:
What did you think of the story? Frightening? If you feel as passionately as people like Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin do about the fact that we should do all we can to promote as much offshore drilling in our oceans as possible, shoot me an email.
Many feel that ANYTHING is better than getting energy from the Sun and the wind.
.
What happens if an offshore wind farm suffers the same kind of accident, and "air" starts spill into the environment!? A small breeze could turn into a gust... and then who knows what will happen.
Okay... HEY!!!! I know a lot of you are checking in from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. But if you're here in NYC this weekend, I hope I see you out in Central Park on Saturday.
And no matter where you are, I hope your still sharing this brand new song and video with all your friends. I'm havin' a lot of fun with this little song. If you wanna watch the video of it's debut in front of a LIVE audience, check out this video and pass it on!

So, how do YOU feel about facebook?
Click on the banner that falls into your bag... your feelings about facebook. Leave a little comment or a little story if you want... about your ex, about a childhood friend, about a moron, about a stalker, about a lost love that you found, about the most ridiculous thing you've ever seen posted. About whatever you want.
There will be a window that reads, "Respond to this video"
Go ahead!

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
