Welcome to the website. Kind of a fun update today!
I finally entered all those new email addresses into the database, so if you're brand new here I hope you decide to bookmark this page and check back every day or often!
Kind of just getting back into the swing of things after a really quick trip to Kerrville, Texas for a very special kind of gig. (I'll tell you more about it in future updates... maybe even some video and audio from the festival.)
Now -- I know a lot of you are looking forward to finally getting the "outdoor" season into some kind of rhythm. But in regard to all the email I'm receiving about this coming Saturday afternoon in Central Park I can tell you this...

I don't know yet.
.
I have a phone call to make before I can tell you we've got the go-ahead.
HEY!!!! You guys know that I always say that "one day in my life very rarely resembles the day before." A few weeks ago I shot another TV commercial and a lot of you have been asking me about it. Well here it is...
Bet you didn't know I was a high-end auto mechanic! (I'm the guy at the end of the spot.)

Brilliant, brilliant acting... no?
Okay, moving on.

LAST NIGHT... first I hit the book signing at Barnes & Noble and had planned to go to Cast Party at Birdland to show up for Chris Lavin's "Oprah Moment" to release her new book to the world. So after the bookstore event I headed down there with my friend and colleague, George Wurzbach. We got there and there was one of those NYC lines out the door. George and I looked at each other and kinda said to each other, "Nah.... I don't do club lines, do you?"
So we just hung in a small Europan in the theater district, and straightened out the entire Universe for about 3 hours.
Turned into a very cool hang. But sorry to have missed part of Chris's night. Here.... you should get her book. Click here to visit her site!
Okay. The outdoor season is underway. And for the "Below-Fourteenth-Street-Crowd", I will be starting up another year of "The Sunset on the Hudson Concert Series". Looking forward to hangin' out with you guys again in The Village, on Pier 45, within sight of the Statue of Liberty.
Very cool.

So listen... check back tomorrow and might be able to tell you about Saturday in Central Park. In the meantime, thanks for hangin' out here at the website.
OH!!!
My facebook song ("Facebook is a Stupid Idiot") is probably gonna break 10,000 viewers this weekend while I'm away. What a blast! If you haven't seen it, here it is. I'm havin' a lot of fun with this little song. If you wanna watch the video of it's debut in front of a LIVE audience, check out this video and pass it on!

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
