Storm clouds moving into New York City today.

But it looks like a really warm, sunny weekend coming up in a few days. Now that we're back at "The HIll", you guys can divide up into the 2 distinct groups of music lovers... "THE SUN PEOPLE" and the "SHADE PEOPLE".

(Of course, every straight man on the planet clicked that photo... I saw you!)

If you're staying in town I hope you can hang with me this weekend. I have a good feeling about this Saturday afternoon and I have no idea why. I'm gonna do something a little bit special... well, kind of special to me. It's something personal and it has to do with a long-time, good, good friend. A little guy who was in the room with me when nearly every one of my songs was written.

And like I always say, "If somebody described to me what it is I do with my guitar out there in Central Park, I probably wouldn't go." Y'know? "Yeah, he's a singer/songwriter who plays original tunes and a bunch of covers by people like James Taylor and Sheryl Crow and Bob Dylan and The Beatles."

But, something special happens every time out there. I can't explain it. But I really dig it. And I've got a good, good feeling about this weekend.

Hey listen.

Tomorrow or the next day... I'm gonna hafta write something more about the outrageous and surreal ongoing tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico. I listened to the president's speech last night and I don't even know what to say anymore. I understand the enormity and the complexity of this catastrophe and I suppose he did the best he could in light of the circumstances. But overall, as a free-thinking man of Reason, I'm so disappointed in this administration. I wish he would rise above the typically weak political expediency and conventional wisdom and work those "accountability" and "consequence" muscles a lot more. (I also wish the alternative of the opposition party wasn't 50 times worse.)

The leaders of The Republican Party and these fearful, shallow people out in front of The Tea Party Movement really leave no other choice for a man like me. So many of them have proven themselves time after time to be self-seeking phonies and principally twisted hypocrites.

But, I had such "hope" after the 2008 election.

Oh well... I still have "purpose".

And I suppose a big part of that purpose is to...

KEEP HOPE ALIVE

Kind of related to all of that, I'm gonna a question for all of you tomorrow.

Seriously... it's something I've been wondering about for a while and I thought maybe I'd put it out there and ask all of you. I'm gonna be really looking forward to your answers. So check back tomorrow.

And here -- THIS IS THE VIDEO I WAS TELLING YOU ABOUT IN THE PARK. It was the debut of the song I sang yesterday about facebook. I think you're gonna wanna watch this video, right up until the very, very end... and then share it with everyone you know who might feel the same way!

Actually, even people who are really into facebook are getting a kick of this!

Oh, oh, oh... you also might wanna just hit this page and become, y'know... become... a "fan". (I feel sooooo ridiculous saying that. but we live in a strange time.)

THE FACEBOOK FAN PAGE

And here are a few more videos for the newcomers.

Have fun.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
