Today... I'm heading up to Yankee Stadium with the man I call "Pop". (Um, that's because he's my father.)
Thanks for the tix, Andrea!
Damn! I love doing what I do to with my Life and for a living. I'm a really lucky, lucky man.

Got some fun stuff here today.
In yesterday's update I told you guys that I'm flying to Kerrville, Texas this weekend to do one song and then flying back. The song I've been asked to do down there is "Resolution".
Now, I'm gonna hafta do a solo acoustic version of the song, and I think I've got something worked out that might make it as equally powerful as the produced version.
One thing that I love about this song is that it was covered by this group.

Now I'm heading to Texas to do the song.
So, I'll miss hangin' with you guys in the park this weekend. But I will hopefully be able to return to "The Hill" the following Saturday.
This week has been an interesting week. String enough of those together, and you got yourself an interesting Life. This is why I consider myself a lucky man and an unapologetic "possibility-junkie"
Y'know? I had a diner-run meeting yesterday with a guy I hadn't been in touch with in a longer time than we both would like to realize. But he's just one more professional dreamer in my circle of friends and artists and colleagues. It's so cool to be able to share Reason and vision with people who "get it".
It's also cool to be able to write songs and write honest feelings and thoughts and then get affirmation from people I have never met though this website. (When I say affirmation... I mean, I also very often feel validated by the unreasonable responses I evoke from some people. Some people just don't "get" what I have to say.) It's very cool.
I wrote a piece the other day that addressed my feelings as a writer and lyricist about the inaccurate use of some key words in our public discourse. I received over 50 responses at the email address I supplied for you guys. (2 people in the bunch replied that I was off-the-mark. But they never seem to point out where I'm factually wrong. I think they just tend to personalize things, as if I'm writing specifically about them for whatever reason. Interesting.)
And the day before that, I had a funner (Yes, when fun is used as an adjective, "funner" is the correct form. Weird isn't it?) ... I had a funner update in which I asked "Is it just me?" about that woman on the TV commercial for that eye stuff.
So, here's a sample of your comments, first about the word "FREEDOM":
David -
good/true comments on War, Faith, Religion, and Freedom,
we concur,
I enjoyed reading,
be well....

Fantastic update bro!
I couldn't agree more. After spending so many years with the misguided people that consider you a non-team player because you turn your ear on the bull shit and don't follow like a lemming to the sea, I can certainly relate.
What the hell will it take to wake them up?
A friend of mine said last night that the U.S will fall as the most powerful country in the world as did so many others throughout history. If he's right then it's our own fault. We've been separated, deceived, misguided, used, lied to, so on and so on.
The price we pay for "freedom" is nothing compared to the price we'll pay for truth. WE are the enemy and WE need to negotiate the truth about who we are, what we're doing, and where we're going.
The mess in the gulf is a real eye opener and if the "righteous" wing can't see it they're absolutely pathetic.
Keep up the good work... I'm with ya.
Later.

And here are few more of YOUR comments about the "EYE DOCTOR":
.
She is definitely quite spooky. Her eyes are weird, for sure.
~ Alice and Robert
Spooky eyes. I thought it was just me...thank you!!!
~ Susan
Yeah, David. She is spooky looking. But the really disturbing thing is that she's a doctor, and here she is pitching a commercial.
And speaking of restless leg syndrome, Kramer had a catchier name for it. He called it having "the Jimmy legs."
Saturday was great in the park, and nice to have Dave Marcus back for a visit.
~ Flavia and Ed
.
RLS?
I'm with you on that... and the dry eye woman.
Makes my eyes dry to look at her.
Very spooky.
I also love it when they rattle off the side effects that sound worse than the problem itself.
Guess they just want you to buy more drugs to cure the side effects.
Wonder if there is a drug to cure joblessness or (BES) Bad Economy Syndrome?
Prescription only... I'm sure.
~ Bob
.
Totally! Next time, I see it, I will pay more attention. It's on a lot.
~ Katie
My facebook song ("Facebook is a Stupid Idiot") is probably gonna break 10,000 viewers this weekend while I'm away. What a blast! If you haven't seen it, here it is. I'm havin' a lot of fun with this little song. If you wanna watch the video of it's debut in front of a LIVE audience, check out this video and pass it on!

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
