Welcome to the website...

This is gonna be a cool update today!!!

If you're reading this before 11:00 am, I hope you join me and listen to "Valerie's New York" on WOR RADIO. In fact, I'm pretty sure you'll be able to call the show! (More about that a little further down the page.)

If you're brand new here and are checkin' this out as the result of hearing the show... WELCOME!

Hope you check back for a new update every day!

FIRST THINGS FIRST! This new song has already passed 10,000 views on YouTube. (Freaky)

Pass it on to all you friends. Post in anywhere you want!

Hey guys, there are a lot of people checking in here from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. Today is one of those days you can all get in on the action here in The Big Apple directly with the rest of us.

"One more time, around the Sun. I hope we find our way..."

Y'see... 19 years ago today, I put my guitar on my shoulder and headed out to Central Park to share a few songs and make a little lunch money. Since that very first day, my life has been an amazing and fascinating ride as an independent artist.

.

It was June 14, 1992

The following day, this article appeared in the New York Times.

So here we are all these years later -- so many memories, so many laughs, so many tears, so much music. The paths of so many beautiful people have crossed mine. We've been through so much in this town, wonderful, tragic... so much Life.

Thanks for being a part of it, and for letting me be a genuine part of the town I love so well.

SO HERE'S SOMETHING SO COOL!

On the heels of the Permit Office of The Parks Department putting a damper on the weekend by withholding our permit this past Saturday, I'm going to join Valerie Smaldone on WOR Radio today.... and you can join me!

As the Goodness in the Universe would have it, through a friend and colleague of mine named Robert Russel I was serendipitously asked to do a little radio thing with a woman who's voice was married for years to radio airplay of artists like James Taylor, Sheryl Crow, The Eagles and Simon & Garfunkel at the radio station called Lite FM.

Valerie at work

Now she's over at WOR Radio and I'll be here guest tomorrow LIVE between 11:00 am and noon.

So if you're not doing anything -- or if you're at work and the boss isn't looking, pop in your earbuds and listen... either on the radio, or you can click on this banner and listen online:

And you'll be able to call in no matter where in the country you are!

800-321-0710

Help me celebrate 19 years of being "That Guitar Man..." in this great town.

Okay, and if you're just checking this out because you heard the show today... here's some stuff we do around here.

There are different galleries.

Here... here's another for you to download for free.

I'll be back tomorrow with another update.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
