Welcome to the website.

We have a lot of fun around here almost all the time. In the past few months I've introduced the new facebook song and video, we've begun another outdoor season in Central Park....

...and we've had 3 really amazing indoor concert events here in New York City. (There's lots of video further down the page.)

SO -- welcome to all the newcomers at all the people checking in here from different parts of the country and different parts of the world.

I'm a songwriter.

I'm an American singer/songwriter... I write songs about Life and Love, songs to make people laugh, songs to make people feel.

But part of my job, in the tradition of Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, and Bob Dylan, and Joan Baez, and John Lennon, and Joanie Mitchell, and Bruce Springsteen, and Neil Young and on and on... part of my job is to comment honestly and fearlessly on the world around me and what's going on in this country.

And I've had it!

Today's update is dedicated solely to Sarah Palin... and anybody of that right-wing mindset who claim to love this country and yet, like Palin, have NO idea what this country is supposed to be about... and have no sense of reason or decency.

I put together a little video today.

Watch it if you have a just a few minutes, and then take a minute to BE HEARD.

I've been saying it for weeks now... we are being lied to once again. Any reasonable person must realize that this oil spill is already the most devastating ecological disaster in modern history with no end in sight. We are days away from the start of hurricane season. Where is that oil going to go? It is not going to disappear. It just keeps coming and coming. Dolphins, birds, fish, our food supply, our land, our oceans, our.... our home... our planet... all continue to be so severely injured as I'm writing this and as you're reading this. The Gulf of Mexico won't recover for generations. Crude oil is going to devastate the coast of North America. One tropical storm in the Gulf and oil will be washing up on every southern coastal state, the country of Mexico and probably all the way up the Eastern seaboard... all the way to New York and beyond.

Okay, I said it in another update -- as long as we're driving cars with combustible engines we will be using fossil fuel.

BUT... Sarah Palin opened her big, ignorant, hypocritical mouth this week and just tipped me over the edge.
