I played a little gig for a small bunch of people at one of the coolest little companies in Manhattan. Seems that once a month they throw a little office party. Last night, I supplied the music. The theme of last night's party was "YouTube Stars" It was supposed to be on the rooftop, but the thunderstorms last night changed those plans.
So during the gig, I played my brand new "facebook song" in a conference room. We laughed and changed the lyrics.... just a bit... at one point. Pretty funny, though. For any newcomers around here, this is the song and video. (Keep passing it around!!!)

I know there are an awful lot of you reading this in different parts of the world. But here in the U.S., this weekend is the "unofficial" start of the summer season. And so for a lot of people here in New York City today is...
Get outta town day!
.
But for people like me, it's the start exactly the kind of weekend I really love in this town.
It's when most parts of the city, except for the HUGE tourist areas like Times Square and South Ferry, slow down... quiet down. Streets on the Upper West side, Upper East Side, The Village, SoHo all kinda empty out a little and the pace is more relaxed and easy. I love this town all the time. But I really love hangin' out on holiday weekends in the summer when so many millions of people are frantically and frenetically hitting the road so they can get someplace else.... to relax.
So yeah, tomorrow I'm gonna kick back, put my guitar on my shoulder and head to Central Park.
If you're new to all of this, here's a little map that will help you find us in New York City's beautiful 843 acre backyard.

If you're like me and you're gonna stay in town tomorrow, I hope I see you out there!
HEY!
And just for any newcomers, here are a few songs to download for free.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
