Welcome to the website. A lot to tell you about today. This is gonna be a good update if you're here in New York City, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world.
Y'know?
Today is supposed to be DAY ONE of the new "outdoor" season in Central Park.
.
BUT... I don't know what to tell you.
The permit office at the Parks Department issued a Special Events Permit to us for last Saturday. Got the NYPD permits.
We've got the permits for today.
But the seasonal fences are still up around the area we've called home (The Hill) for the past 19 years.
So, I don't know what to tell you. This week I emailed the people at The Parks Department who I thought might be able to give us an idea of how to handle this. But I haven't heard back from anyone yet.
I'm not getting upset about this. I'm not about causing problems. I just don't know what to tell you guys.
Still... I think I'm gonna head out there today anyway.
If the fences are up when I get there and it doesn't seem feasible to hang at "The Hill", I guess I'll just try move it all around to the other side of The Lake, to the area we like to call "The Away Game".
Here's a map.

But if there's a conflicting, permitted event going on over there... they win. We'll just have to wait until somebody can tell me what's goin' on.
Sorry.
Don't sweat it. It's gonna be a long wonderful summer.
Okay now... for everyone who's checking in here from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. Video, video, video...
Besides the brand new song about facebook... people have been asking me to re-post some video from last summer and the "Year-End Concert" in Merkin concert Hall this past December.
So just click on the videos to watch!!!
HERE IT IS! THE NEW SONG!
.
Watch the entire video all the way to the very end... and enjoy the song. We had a really good time at the concert last Friday.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
