Once again, welcome to all the newcomers around this site. Even if you live in a different part of the country or a different part of the the world and you've never been to Central Park to hang with me, there will probably be something for you here at the website almost every day.
Thanks for checkin' in.
Here in New York City, I'm gearing up for the start of a new season in Central Park... back at "The Hill".
.
Can I tell you... I've got my fingers crossed for good weather, because I woke up yesterday really pumped about the idea of returning to that little spot in the park with my guitar.
Kinda funny... here's a photo from the very first summer I went out there in 1992. (Notice the tiny little "mouse" amplifier and that our tree was standing straight up. I'm also sitting down because I had blown out my knee earlier that summer.)
The fact that this has grown into such a very cool and very real part of this great city makes me feel like one of the luckiest men alive.
Truly.
.
Thank you.
.
Oh before we move on, just wanted to let you know that I'm receiving wonderful, heartfelt and thoughtful emails in response to yesterday's update about the oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, including this Photoshop image sent in from MV in Maryland.
You can share your thoughts with me as well by hitting the "contact" button.
Okay -- now, if you're gonna be i town, keep YOUR fingers crossed, too, for good weather this coming Saturday. I'm gonna bring a whole bunch of new songs out there with me. I also dug up a bunch of cover tunes to play... some of them from wwwwaaayyyy back. But a great song is just a great song.
And I'm looking forward to springing the new facebook song on a whole bunch of unsuspecting people from across the country and around the world. (I mean, it's Central Park after all!)
I hope your still sharing this brand new song and video with all your friends. I'm havin' a lot of fun with this little song. If you wanna watch the video of it's debut in front of a LIVE audience, check out this video and pass it on!
.
So, how do YOU feel about facebook?
Click on the banner that falls into your bag... your feelings about facebook. Leave a little comment or a little story if you want... about your ex, about a childhood friend, about a moron, about a stalker, about a lost love that you found, about the most ridiculous thing you've ever seen posted. About whatever you want.
There will be a window that reads, "Respond to this video"
Go ahead!
.
.
And here are a few more.
Have fun.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
