Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Well, I woke up at 6 am today. The first thing I heard on the news this morning.... the lead story on NPR News... set my mind at ease, and now I can breather easier.

Relax, America.

Thank everything Good that...

A professional athlete named Tiger is going to play golf again.

He's going to play.... golf.

He's going to... play...

GOLF!

The lead story.

Wow.

It's official. We've gone insane.

.

(Of course that will be a comfort to the family of Staff Sgt. Scott Brunkhorst, a 25 year old from Fayetteville, N.C.... killed in Afghanistan whose name was released yesterday.)

'nough said.

.

**************************

Of equal importance to the people of the world as the world of golf... I created an EVENT on Facebook for the upcoming concert!

(Oh man! I've gone over to the Dark Side!)

But... what the hell. I really want to give as many people as I can an opportunity to get tickets for the concert on April 30th. This is gonna be another good one... another special night. I can feel it already.

As of today, there are about 100 tickets left!!!

Hey! Any time I get to share a stage with the artists who are gonna be there at this gig, it's always a good, good time!

Welcome to the website! We have a lot of fun around here. And we're getting really close to 2 really great things... the "Spring Kick-Off Concert" and our return to Central Park for year #19.

.

FIRST UP!

Let's have a good time!!!!

Grab a few friends and get tickets for the concert at the end of April!!!!

Friday, April 30th -- 7:30

THE LEONARD NIMOY THALIA
Broadway @ 95th Street

This is gonna be a fun, fun gig! I'm gonna be joined on stage by a lot of the same people we had so much fun with at "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert".

George Wurzbach, Ryan Cavan, Nelson Montana and the beautiful and talented Teresa Reynolds.

WERE YOU AT THE CONCERT THIS PAST DECEMBER!? DIDJA HAVE A GREAT TIME!?

Me, too.

So, do NOT miss this one!!! It's on a Friday night... April 30th!

But this time, ordering tickets is a little bit different!

This theater is a lot more intimate than Merkin Hall and there isn't a bad seat in the house. It's really gonna feel very, very cool. If you get tix in advance, ALL seats are only $25. If you wait until the day of the show, all seats are $30. So, save yourself five bucks and get them in advance!

You can get them online right now by clicking on this banner:

This is gonna be fun!

Wanna have a few smiles today for absolutely no reason at all?

Let me share a few moments with you from "The Something'th Annual Year-End Concert". This past December, I got to share a stage again with some of the most talented, generous, sweetest, open-hearted, genuinely coolest artists on the planet.... people I am also lucky enough to call "friends".

Okay... NOW!

.

I love my life. I love the people who are in my life. I get to hang with genuinely caring, kind, open-minded, good-hearted people of Reason. And, I love doing what I know I'm meant to be doing with my Life... making music and sharing stories. Makes me a very lucky man.

Most often, for me music is a mirror to reflect the world around us. But sometimes, it can be a hammer to try to help shape the world around us as well.

Download this brand new song for free if you like. (It's really about the disgraceful prison at Guantanemo and the war criminals in our own government under the last administration from Cheney on down the chain of command... all the way down to G.W. Bush.)

And it's about broken promises.

But, you get the idea.

THE LAST PROTEST SONG

If you ever have any comments or thoughts you'd like to leave for me, you know I read every single email I get. Even though I don't have time to respond to every one, they are all read and appreciated. (Well... they're all read, and most are appreciated!)

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
