Oh man!

Hey guys... I have some really good/bad news today.

Y'know how I always play those gigs in The Turks and Caicos Islands every year... or in Ixtapa, Mexico or Guadeloupe?

Well, the entertainment directors of the resort I played the past gig in February contacted me 2 days ago, and then we spoke again last night. They offered me an 18-month contract to play on the island of Providenciales for really, really sick money... which is really good news.

The bad news is -- that the contract will begin in 6 weeks.

So, RIGHT AFTER the upcoming concert on April 30th... I'm outta here.

The concert at The Leonard Nimoy Thalia on Friday night, April 30th will be the last time that me and my guitar will get to hang with all of you until 2011.

So, I guess there will be no "That Guitar Man from Central Park" this summer and no "Sunset Concert Series" this year in The Village.

Oh, but...

This week, this whole month leading up to the concert at The Thalia I'll fill you in on the ticket availability.

I really love making music and working with the people I get to work with. From James Marino who built this website, to Laura Manske who's been handling.... um... like everything. To Kara from G.I.G. who's been backing me up to get these concerts on their feet for you guys.

But, y'know? I especially love when it comes time to get a bunch of artists in a room to kick around some NEW stuff. Got a few new songs we're gonna fly past you guys on April 30th. That's always, always a good feeling. Of course we'll do a whole lotta the songs you all love to sing along with, like you do in Central Park.

Seriously... don't get sold outta this one!

Damn!

.

If you're new around here you might wanna start with this little gallery of photos from last summer which were shot my Laura Manske and others that lots of people have sent in to the website.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
