Okay...

YOU ALL KNOW ABOUT THE CONCERT THAT'S COMING UP HERE IN NEW YORK CITY! APRIL 30th

(I'll get into that a little further down the page.)

First, I have a few really fun things here on the site today.

Welcome to all of you who are checking in from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. Here in New York City... Spring is here, Baby! We're gettin' close to another season in Central Park.

.

.

But...

LAST NIGHT I had a blast. thank you to every single one of you who showed up for that "Metrojam" at The Metropolitan Room and thanks to Jenna Esposito for inviting me to be her special guest artist.

If I met you for the first time last night, thank you for being so cool.

I got a chance to run a brand new song past a roomful of people. that's the only way I can ever really know if a song is going to work. Especially a song like this one.

Well, I went ahead and did it. It made it's debut. And today I can report....the damned things works!

I still can;t tell you the title yet. It's got to be a surprise.

But, it's a song about...

CHECK BACK TOMORROW AND I MIGHT POST VIDEO OF IT'S VERY FIRST TIME BEING SUNG ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!

The funniest thing happened though!

I was gonna play a quick 3-song set! so I figure I would open with "Crazy on the Same Day", then debut "Facebook..." and then close with "This Moment" from the most recent album.

Well, just before taking the stage I thought to myself, "Y'know? This is an unfamiliar crowd. I'd probably better open with something that is a sure thing.... something that I know kills every time no matter where I am." So, at the very last minute I decided to open with the old workhorse "Tom Cruise Scares Me".

Bad choice.

My heart is not stupid and it knows when I'm supposed to be following it's voice rather than my head.

So.... I get one verse into Tom Cruise Scares Me" and after singing that song between 2 and 3 MILLION times -- -- I FORGOT THE DAMNED LYRICS!

Twice!!!!!!

So, I went back to original set and sure enough, the hit was "FaceBook is a Stupid Idiot"

.

.

.

Ah, lessons.

.

.

Hey listen... I've got at least 3 new songs I'm gonna do with the artists who will share the stage with me in about 4 weeks. We're gonna have a lot of fun at the gig coming up at the end of this month.

I'll let you know if we're gonna stream this concert LIVE so that you guys who can't get to NYC can be a part of it, too! (One of these days soon, we'll be doing interactive shows in which you'll be able to request songs from wherever in the world you are!!! Who knows? Maybe James, the Evil Genius, will be able to figure that out for this gig!)

Either way... THIS is gonna be fun.

The concert is Friday night, April 30th at 7:30 and it's gonna be a blast!!!!!!

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
