Okay... enough is enough.

This past week we got into some social issues around here. That's not gonna stop in 2010. As an artist and as a man, I still have to do my best in whatever small way I can to help the voices of Love and Reason eventually drown out the voices of fear and ignorance. Still...

YES! I'm a possibility-junkie!!! Unapologetic!

Who's the luckiest man alive?

I am, right?

Y'know? when I say that, it is my sincere hope that every single person reading this feels that way most of the time in their own lives.

I guess it's just my own way of "paying attention" -- my own way of staying in a state of constant amazement, wonder and gratitude... just to be alive!

Damn! I'm a fan.

I mean, seriously... Look at some of the artists I get to work with on a regular basis.

. . . .
Teresa Reynolds, George Wurzbach, Christine Lavin, Nelson Montana, David Marcus, Ryan Cavan, Chris Tedescon, Cenovia Cummins... amazing...

Damn!

I write songs and I sing them for people.

In my own faltering and completely imperfect way I get to write songs about whatever is on my mind and in my heart. I try to write songs to let the next guy know he's not alone, to touch someone's heart, to make somebody think or to help someone laugh...

Sometimes to make a point.

Thank you all for the phenomenal time we had at Merkin Concert Hall this past December. Here's a little tiny clip from the "This Year's Question" section:

There's a lot more of this video. Wat a great time we had at that gig! I'll post some more laughs and some songs soon.

But, yeah. Sometimes I play songs... to make a bunch of strangers... SKIP! (Okay, I didn't write this song. But what the hell!)

Have fun. I'll post the longer version and some LIVE songs very soon. And here's just another fun video from last summer... one of those ridiculously cool, spontaneous moments we've all gotten so used to out there in the park every week.

BUT!!!!

I've got a new idea that's kickin' around!!! Hopefully, I'll be able to tell you more about it next week! I'm gonna ask you all to write in and give me your thoughts about it.

Before I get to that... let's do this again. Lets take a minute to ask anybody who's new around here to jump in and lend a hand to the people who are suffering so terribly right next door to us. There's sooooo much left to do. Please take a moment to send whatever kind of help you can to the people of Haiti.

Me personally.... I truly LOVE the work done by these good, good people in this very well-run and beautiful organization. I support this particular group when I can.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
