You pretty much know how I feel about Life and people in general right? (Don't worry... today's update is still gonna be a feel-good update. I try not to give power to people who just don't "get it".)
But, oh man... I was gonna begin this update today with a story about my recent experience with Time/Warner Media Sales.... specifically a guy named... no, you don't need to know his name. We'll leave names out of ti unless The New York Times wants to do the story. (I'm speaking today with one of the reporters who did a nice piece on me last year.) It would be a story that would leave anyone (who was born with any sense of basic right and wrong) scratching their heads, but with a feeling of such gratitude for the Good, caring people in their lives.
But, I don't wanna get all ugly before today's update. And maybe I'll feel differently about the article by later today. So, I'll just say this...
I love what I do for a living. I am surrounded by really, really good people... people who know that the principles of right and wrong don't cease to exist at the office door. Y'know? Ha! In my experience, when some people say things like, "It's just business" or more specifically things like "This is the currency we deal in" or even "I know it's wrong, but that's the 'business' model we follow"...
Well, they're kidding themselves.
They're just... wrong. And they either know it, or rationalize it, or make shallow excuses for themselves.
Or... they ultimately aren't human beings of enough substance to care.
BUT!!! They're not in my life and I'm glad of it!
And suffice it to say, you won't be seeing any TV spots for me on Time/Warner again any time soon.
Moving on!!!!
Back to the fun and the music!!!

Good idea!?
Try to do it sooner than later. Call your friends and make a night of it! There are only about 150 tickets left for sale! But there truly isn't a bad seat in that venue!

These yearly concerts are such a blast. The feeling in that hall is always something very cool and special. This year's gonna be no different. I can feel it already. It's the same kind of feeling we share out in Central Park all year.

This year we'll be doing a whole bunch of new songs from the latest album, and I'll be joined on stage by some of the most generous, open-hearted, talented, good people... really wonderful artists. George Wurzbach, Ryan Cavan, Nelson Montana, Dave Marcus, Chris Tedesco and Cenovia Cummins. Folk-legend, Christine Lavin is gonna be in the house and will probably jump in on a few things. The man who brought The Beatles to America, Mr. Sid Bernstein, is gonna be in the audience so we'll all be in the company of American music history. AND... we laugh as much as we sing at these gigs.
.
You're not gonna wanna miss this one. This year it's on a SATURDAY NIGHT - - December 12th.
This year we're also gonna be joined on stage by newcomer, the beautiful and talented Teresa Reynolds.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
