Uy!

White House Party Crasher? Hmmmm...

At a songwriter's award dinner a few years back, all I remember was asking the photographer, "Who the f*ck is this!?"

When I first saw her coming at me I thought that I was about to be assaulted by Ann Coulter. But, turned out this was a completely different nightmare.

Damn! Remember last year's concert!? (This explains a lot.)

CLICK ON PHOTO for larger image.

I was wondering who that was!

Isn't it bizarre and pathetic when someone's aspirations in life come down to an attempt to become a living, breathing, kind of annoying version of... "Where's Waldo"?

Oh well. Moving on.
.

Okay! Before I get to today's update, gotta tell you. I gave you an update about the available tickets for "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" in 2 weeks... and I was a little bit off.

There are only about 175 tickets left!!!

There truly isn't a bad seat in Merkin Concert Hall. It's about the most intimate 500 seat venue in New York. Even the balcony is right up near the stage. But, you might wanna call your friends, get a bunch of them together and grab some tickets this week.

Click for seating chart

You can get them online. there's a banner with a link here today on this page. BUT... you might wanna call the box office directly today to make sure you get the seats you really want

The Merkin Concert Hall Box Office is open from noon until 7:00.

Okay!

Hey! Let's get on with today's update!

First of all... thanks again for another typically amazing year in Central Park!

.

Now we move it indoors.

I understand from the stats that there an awful lot of newcomers here at the site these days. I hope you all take a few minute to go back through the ARCHIVE and check out past updates. There are also a couple of brand new fun galleries for you to check out.

.

AND!

These are the last 2 days of the "Sarah Palin Caption Contest"!!!!! I'm going to announce the winner on Thursday!

THE CONTEST

I'm going to announce the winner THIS THURSDAY!!! (December 3)

You still have time to get a few captions in to win a 6-CD set of music and a "Crazy on the Same Day" baseball cap, even if this is your very first time here at the site. All you're gonna hafta do is come up with your own caption to one of my Photoshop images. I call this one...

Click on the banner for the image.

Click on this banner to find out how to make up your own caption , enter the contest and win FREE stuff.

It's really kinda cool. The emails are flying. I can't post them all. But I'll just grab a random bunch and give you an idea of how clever, funny, silly and sometimes downright twisted a lot of you are!!!

SOME OF THE CAPTIONS ALREADY SENT IN (And a few comments)
.

Cool?

Okay....

THE CONCERT

At the end of every lap around the Sun we get together and kick the year in the ass as it heads out the door in a great music venue near Lincoln Center... Merkin Concert Hall in the Kaufman Center.

This year we'll be doing a whole bunch of new songs from the latest album, and I'll be joined on stage by some of the most generous, open-hearted, talented, good people... really wonderful artists. George Wurzbach, Ryan Cavan, Nelson Montana, Dave Marcus, Chris Tedesco and Cenovia Cummins. Folk-legend, Christine Lavin is gonna be in the house and will probably jump in on a few things. The man who brought The Beatles to America, Mr. Sid Bernstein, is gonna be in the audience so we'll all be in the company of American music history. AND... we laugh as much as we sing at these gigs.

.

You're not gonna wanna miss this one. This year it's on a SATURDAY NIGHT - - December 12th.

I think the best way to make sure you get the very best seats still available is to call the box office directly between noon and 7:00

212-501-3330

Or you can click on this banner to grab tickets online

This year we're also gonna be joined on stage by newcomer, the beautiful and talented Teresa Reynolds.

And before I get outta here today, here are a couple of samples from some of the songs we'll probably wind up doing a the gig this year.

See you guys here at the site all week with a new update every day! If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.

.

Thanks for everything.

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
- Dean
