Okay, this is gonna be cool. Got something goin' on tonight. Just a crazy idea. Something really kind of audacious for a completely independent artist.

If you live here in Manhattan (Sorry, only in Manhattan) at 11:00 tonight be sure to watch

Seriously, this is gonna be cool. (I hope.)

Okay, let's get on with today's update!

First of all, I hafta welcome everybody to the website today. If you've spent just even ONE afternoon with me in Central Park, thanks so much for making me the luckiest man alive! I love my Life and I love writing songs and singin' them for people.

. . .

I get to share summer afternoons with some of the most open-hearted, good, free-thinking, open-minded, funniest, sexiest, smartest and sweetest people in the world right here in New York City's own little backyard. I get to share my music, and my stories, and my thoughts, and a lot of genuine laughter with people from all across the country and around the world. It's so cool.

And, now we're only 4 weeks away from "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert".

Quickly.... did you get your tickets yet? You might wanna grab some to be sure before this thing sells out this year.

You can call the box office directly today between noon and 7:00.

These concerts are a blast. We often laugh as much as we sing at these things. But, the concerts, like most of the songs that I write, are not overtly political... as some people have suggested. (Those comments usually come from people who don't like the way an independent artist like me thinks... or watch too much FOX!)

HA! But it's kind of part of my job description to write what's on my mind, in my heart - - and sometime to write songs that "comfort the disturbed... and disturb the comfortable." And I did write ONE verse in a very popular song about this ridiculous woman... SARAH PALIN!!! She just won't go away!!! Ha! I mean, today they're airing her appearance on Oprah hawking her book "Going Rogue".

Yeah...

Sure like every other reasonable person, I'm sick of her. But she gave me an idea for this contest.

Now!

Well, this next thing might be pretty cool! But, it isn't gonna be seen by people in other parts of the country. It isn't even for people in 4 of the 5 boroughs of New York City.

This is for all of you who live here on the island of Manhattan!!!

TONIGHT!!!!

If you live here in Manhattan, at 11:00 tonight be sure to watch The Daily Show.

No. I'm not gonna be on the show. (Although, man! I think Jon Stewart and I would have a great time if I was!)

No. Be sure to watch the commercials, okay? Then check back in here tomorrow.

Got it?

NOW... most of you regulars here at the site know that every year we get together at Merkin Concert Hall near Lincoln Center to kick each year in the ass as it heads out the door. This year "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert" is on Saturday night December 12th.

I'm sure we're gonna be playing a bunch of songs from the new CD and a whole bunch of your favorites from over the years. And if you've ever been to one of these things you know that we laugh as much as we sing at these things.

SO.... DON'T GET SOLD OUTTA THIS ONE!!!!

Or...click on this banner to order tickets online right now!

Hey listen...

I've got a whole bunch of stuff to do today.

But before I get out of here today I wanna say... thank you so much for making a part of this city I love so much. It really is a thrill for me when you guys give me a big "Hey, Guitar Man" whether I'm walking on the street or on the subway heading up to Yankee Stadium or sitting in the "perfect" diner. It's a blast livin' this life, and I can't wait to call 2009 a wrap at Merkin Hall in about 4 weeks.

Thanks again.

Here in Manhattan, watch The Daily Show tonight.... BUT BE SURE TO WATCH THE COMMERCIALS!!!

See you back here tomorrow with a brand new update.

.

- PEACE

A note from filmmaker Dean Love...

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer.
