Got a new update for you today after taking yesterday off.
Somethin' up about those White House Party Crashers. And we're in the last 3 days of the "Sarah Palin Caption Contest". And I've got a ticket update for you concerning "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert".
But, first. Once again... Thanks for an amazing 2009 in Central Park.

Okay... the White House Party Crashers are in the news this week.
I'm kinda glad. It explains a lot.
Remember last year's concert at Merkin Hall?

Okay, we'll be back at Merkin Concert Hall in 2 weeks for another...
"The Something'th Annual Year End Concert". (More about that in a minute, and a way you should probably get your tickets today!)
TONIGHT!!! I'm gonna head to The Red Lion tonight to sit in on The SGA Songwriter's Circle. I wrote a new song that I might wanna run by the audience at the top of the concert in 2 weeks.
If you're not doin' anything between 7:00 and 9:00, head down to the corner of Bleecker Street and Thompson in The Village, listen to some fine songwriters and let me run this new song by you. It's not a funny song.... it's just a way to say "Good Bye 2009"

THIS WEEK the "Create a Caption Contest" is wrapping up.... just 3 days left. Some of the entries are hysterical. (I'm gonna post some of the captions you've sent in.)
FIRST!!! Let me tell anybody who's new around here how to get tickets for the gig in 2 weeks.
YOU SHOULD PROBABLY GRAB SOME TICKETS THIS WEEK! I checked the box office today and there are only about 200 seats left.
THE CONCERT
At the end of every lap around the Sun we get together and kick the year in the ass as it heads out the door in a great music venue near Lincoln Center... Merkin Concert Hall in the Kaufman Center.
This year we'll be doing a whole bunch of new songs from the latest album, and I'll be joined on stage by some of the most generous, open-hearted, talented, good people... really wonderful artists. George Wurzbach, Ryan Cavan, Nelson Montana, Dave Marcus, Chris Tedesco and Cenovia Cummins. Folk-legend, Christine Lavin is gonna be in the house and will probably jump in on a few things. The man who brought The Beatles to America, Mr. Sid Bernstein, is gonna be in the audience so we'll all be in the company of American music history. AND... we laugh as much as we sing at these gigs.
.
You're not gonna wanna miss this one. This year it's on a SATURDAY NIGHT - - December 12th.
I think the best way to make sure you get the very best seats still available is to call the box office directly between noon and 7:00

Or you can click on this banner to grab tickets online
This year we're also gonna be joined on stage by newcomer, the beautiful and talented Teresa Reynolds.

Now.... there isn't a bad seat in that venue. There really isn't. Even the balcony is right on top of the stage. It's a very intimate hall. That's one of the reasons I love calling it home every December.
Okay...

It's really kinda cool. The emails are flying. I can't post them all. But I'll just grab a random bunch and give you an idea of how clever, funny, silly and sometimes downright twisted a lot of you are!!!
And! Here are the links for the 2 brand new galleries.

See you guys here at the site all week with a new update every day! If you're new around here, or if you're checking in from a different part of the country or a different part of the world, take a few minutes (or hours) to browse through the ARCHIVE. Lotsa cool shit in there.

As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
