Okay, I sometimes like to start off the update with a quick look back at some really cool moments from this past season in Central Park or a FREE song to download... just for any newcomers who don't have a clue what the whole "That Guitar Man from Central Park" thing is all about.
Well today, we do both.
Here's today's free song.
CRAZY ON THE SAME DAY (Click on the image to download the song.)
And here's a short video from one of the many very cool, spontaneous moments in the middle of the greatest city in the world.

And now, it;s time to move indoors to kick 2009 in the ass as it heads out the door! Almost time for "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert".
Well, got together yesterday with the kids for a vocal rehearsal. Dave Marcus came up from Maryland, Teresa Reynolds came in from Jersey, George Wurzbach beamed down.
Now today, heading down to the studio to get together with the boys in the band.
. . Nelson Montana, George Wurzbach and Ryan Cavan
After the rehearsal yesterday, I'm more jazzed than ever to be in a hall filled with so nay wonderful artists and fun, Good-hearted people. Y'know how I always say, "We laugh as much as we sing at these things" when I'm describing the "Year-End" concerts? Well... I guess that's true for the rehearsals, too.
Man! We had some belly-laughs yesterday. And it was great for Dave Marcus and Teresa Reynolds to actually meet.... since they're gonna be singing together in a month!
Laura Manske was there shooting some video so check back tomorrow and maybe I'll post some behind-the-scenes video from the rehearsal.
I know a ,ot of you check in here from different parts of the country and different parts of the world. But if you're gonna be in or around New York in about 5 weeks, I hope you grab some tickets for "The Something'th Annual Year End Concert".
Some friends, colleagues and a whole bunch of you in Central Park shot a couple of TV commercials for that event, and I'd like to see 'em begin airing during The Daily Show with Jon Stewart in a couple of weeks.
Seriously... I need your help if you can donate a few bucks. We're gonna pull this off!!!
Here's the first of 2 spots.

Like I said, I'm gonna need YOUR help to get them on the air. If you feel like being part of something kinda crazy for an independent musician to do without the backing of a record company, or an agency, or a manager or anything else... it's just us!
Click on this banner to donate whatever you can!
It's the TV AD Campaign of 2009... and yes, I'm out of my mind. You can also just go to the link in the right hand corner at the top of this page and reach the donation page that way, too.
Oh, oh, oh...
But before we go any further today, I have a little Public Service Announcement which has to do with the upcoming concert and some events that are in the news these days. (It all kinda ties into the concept for the second TV commercial we're workin' on as well.)

So...

This year we'll be doing a whole bunch of new songs from the latest album and we came up with some fun ideas and possibilities at rehearsal yesterday. I'm not completely sure tat newcomer Teresa Reynolds knows what she's in for.

David is available for private parties and events. Please call 646-224-8162 for fees and availability.
As you may know I am producing a documentary about "That Guitar Man from Central Park". I would like to ask all David's fans out there to write me and tell me any stories you may have about David and his playing in Central Park and how it has affected you or what it has meant to you. I've already heard some great stories, but I know there are more that I haven't heard. So if you got a story to tell about David and his music, please briefly write it out and send it to stories@thatguitarman.com . I will be contacting people from the stories submitted to interview them for possible inclusion in the film. Thank you and I look forward to seeing everyone on the hill this summer. - Dean
